I live in Scandinavia. Here, we pay 90$ for each newly released game. It stinks. Hell, it's around 90$ for games in the enitre EU (Atleast in Germany and Belgium it is!).
Now, I wanna import some games (PS3) over from Ebay (USA) to Denmark. I ordered GTA IV once, it came out around 40$, still LOOOOOTS cheaper than if I would've bought them here. The shipping took about a week, so its ok, however I wasn't sure of the VAT and shipping-fees, so I just ordered without much knowledge.
Now, I want to know (so I can write it down), how much it may cost me extra to import games from Ebay US?
I have already googled, but Denmark is such a small country, finding anything is hard.
I was thinking of going amazon.co.uk, but it seems like I can save 10$ by ordering from USA.
Cheers.
Oh, also, I'd like to hear if anyone had any experience importing stuff from USA to EU
I've imported hardware (not PC stuff) from the US into Norway. The price including VAT was still cheaper than if I bought it here. The total cost for your sake depends solely on your country's customs, VAT and any other taxation you may have. Try calling a local customs office and ask them!
I think console games are region locked. a lot of them are anyway.
Customs office..I'm afraid I don't know that word.
Ow, btw, PS3 games are -not- region locked. Thats why I bought my PS3. I could buy games from overseas, where as if I had the wii or 360, i'd be stuck with..some expensive games.
It's toll.
I got some t-shirts from zazzle that came to about £24 got charged customs at £13 , weren't best pleased

That would be SKAT, the same thing that probably Sweden and Norway has.
Skat(t) = Tax. Customs = Toll.

Just kidding Scandinavia, you guys are awesome. I found this for you, OP:
Denmark adheres to provisions of GATT on import licensing requirements although certain industrial products must meet Danish and EC technical standards. Denmark converted to the Harmonized System of import duties on 1 January 1988. Most products from European countries are duty-free. Duty rates for manufactured goods range from 5–14% of CIF value, and a 25% VAT is applied to imported, as well as domestic, products. Agricultural products are governed by the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), a system of variable levies, instead of duties.
If your duty fees are anything like Canada's, tell the Ebay seller to mark the item as a gift (value $0) and you won't pay any duty.
