What is Police Warfare?
Police Warfare is a multiplayer game involving large scale warfare in situations where SWAT teams must face off against vicious robbers for control of the streets of L.A.
Inspired by Hollywood films and real life events, Police Warfare aims to emulate the intensity of a possible conflict between America's oldest and most distinguished SWAT division and a group of former PMCs who will utilize any of the latest weaponry they have available to survive. This isn't just a heist anymore. This is war.

Features
- Large scale vehicle warfare comparable to the likes of Battlefield
- Utilize a variety of gadgets to get the job done. Fighting to protect the streets of L.A.? Take control of heavily armed bomb squad robots, rappel off buildings to surprise fleeing criminals, and pilot SWAT helicopters to take the war to the guys camping on the tower across the street. Want to get out of your heists alive? Fly remote RC airplanes to assist your allies, place down taser mines and claymores to turn away those pesky coppers, and use the CruiseControl feature to remotely drive a bomb-laden truck into a pack of baddies.

- The AAA quality of a big shooter, but condensed in a bite-sized package. (think Battlefield 1943)

- Ranging from tight urban warzones to the hills of Hollywood, Police Warfare will provide varied level design in its maps while appealing to many of the playstyles held by a variety of FPS players today.

We've assembled a "special forces" team of experienced developers that will bring the world of Police Warfare to life. Members of the team have worked on games such as Far Cry 3, Gears Of War, Crysis 1/2, Assassin's Creed 2, Medal Of Honor: Airborne, Golden Eye, Killzone 2, and Grand Theft Auto 4. We've worked at companies such as Ubisoft, Epic Games, Electronic Arts and Crytek.
We also brought on real law enforcement advisors to provide tactical expertise, resources and knowledge. We've come together to form a new team and a new company. We create games for gamers, by gamers.
How you can help:
We've spent the past 6 months in pre-production designing original characters, vehicles, environments, animation, storyboards and gameplay mechanics. We're now ready to move into production and thats where you, the fans come in. We're asking your help by making a pledge and supporting the continued development and to help bring SWAT back to the forefront of FPS gaming.

They've actually got a kickstarter now? Thought they were just doing it as a proof of concept?

That was back when they were making it up as a call of duty spinoff. People really wanted to see it and now its happening.
Nice one Zeldar.
So excited for this, I hope they can pull it off. Also, that model is beautiful.
looks pretty great, hope they can get it released
it looks like one of those games that's so great it'll never come out
It would be cool if there were cilivians fleeing the scene, crashing cars into everything to create chaos.
It has a sort of weird CoD vibe to it. I don't know why... Maybe its the guns...
Seems nice though.
It better have a classic Cops and Robbers gamemode.
Instantly thought of this

Did you not notice that it's the same thing
so it's call of duty/battlefield with a different skin
joy?
I am getting real sick and tired of everyone and their grandmother doing a kickstarter.
It better have a classic Cops and Robbers gamemode.
One of the modes, called Heist, is exactly that. Robbers are tasked with destroying bank vaults throughout the city and collecting cash.

Despite how much it's overused, what else is wrong with it?
Pc only or multi console I don't care which this game better have bots

Throughout the city? Does that suggest a bit of open-world fun? At least to a degree?
[editline]15th April 2012[/editline]
Like, you can mix up which ones you hit in order?
Don't know, they've yet to elaborate on it.
so it's call of duty/battlefield with a different skin
joy?
Are you done with the "It's CoD/BF". You seem to post this at every opportunity.
Let us get excited. "nofunallowed.jpg"

Pfff try going into any thread and not see that

Did you not watch the video?
Did you not watch the video?
I did. It sounds a... lot like Battlefield with different skins. It just seems like such a missed opportunity. The idea of a police combat game is ripe with possibilities, but nope, we're just gonna emulate Battlefield and slap "Police Warfare" on top.
So are you looking for a more tactical experience or..?
It sounds like APB

except it'll (hopefully) be better
I just love how this game is actually being made, I remember watching the fan pitch and was like, "This would be pretty cool if they made it". It's also pretty cool that we as gamers are able to help directly fund the games we're going to end up playing and help give feedback in the development of them too, good use of Kickstarter.
I agree, but I remain skeptical that they'll be able to reach their goal in time. Gaining only maybe 1,000 - 2,000 a day atm, they're going to need a miracle to get fully funded via kickstarter. Either way they're still gonna push forward with the project though.
I'm interested in the game, just like with APB a while back, hopefully this won't end up crashing like APB.
Like I really want to play this game.
Okay I watched the video and I guess I missed it, but where is the part where this is anything other than a battlefield clone?
Now if cops actually were using police equipment and rules of engagement, or any semblance of realism at all really, this could be really interesting. Buuuuut all I see is a bunch of shooting and police vehicles that have weapons mounted on them in fashions that would simply never occur.
It looks exactly like a battlefield game. I can't, for the life of me, see the appeal. Everything that is interesting about the cops and robbers dynamic has been stripped out in favor of making another simple shooter. At its most basic form it should always be that Police have overwhelming power, but serious restrictions on its use, while robbers have no restrictions, but limited capabilities.
I mean unless you consider the desire to simply have another BF game, in which case great, but I don't think it needs a kickstarter as the concept is already pretty mainstream.

I kind of have to agree here.
There doesn't seem to be a real police scenario in terms of gameplay and the only difference is that the people look like police instead of soldiers.

So what if it takes influence from Battlefield.

Yeah, that estimated minute of concept gameplay PROVES this is a carbon copy of Battlefield.
