Hello FP.
I was one day walking around a local game shop looking for Gears Of War 2, i was checking it out but my eye's where wondering to Call of Cthulhu, i thought what the fuzz is that for a game, picked it up and a seller came to me and said: "You like story telling games?" i said yes and he said that this game is a game i really should play, he gave it me for €5 instead of 10.
at home i installed the game and played the game, started around 13:30 and ended on 23:45
Now what a amazing game was that! To bad there are not many people playing the game or knowing about this.
about this game:
The game's protagonist is Jack Walters, formerly a police detective with a talent for solving cases with apparently insufficient evidence (it is implied that he might be a psychic), who was committed to a mental institution after a disturbing encounter during a raid in Boston left him apparently insane and with a split personality. A few years later the secondary personality disappears and he is released, although still suffering from amnesia and schizophrenia.
Now earning a living as a private detective, whilst also attempting to trace his own actions during the period of mental disturbance that he now cannot remember, Jack is contacted to take up a missing person case in the town of Innsmouth. He is sent to Innsmouth by Arthur Anderson, owner of the First National grocery store chain, to find Brian Burnham, the missing clerk who has been running the Innsmouth location. Jack takes the case only to find Innsmouth unfriendly, and that the town does not welcome First National or Brian for being "outsiders", an attitude which quickly wins Jack enemies in the town.
Over the course of the game, Jack slowly unravels the strange and terrible secrets behind Innsmouth, the Burnham case, and even the Boston incident that initially landed him in the asylum. In an environment filled with murderous cultists, deep-sea monsters, and alien horrors, Jack must try to survive and remain sane despite the horrors of the new case and his afflictions.
Its not really horror, but more thriller and there some very exciting moments in the game, some of them will force you to press escape.
Canceled sequels
At least two or three additional Cthulhu Mythos games, Call of Cthulhu: Destiny's End, (Xbox/Windows), Call of Cthulhu: Beyond the Mountains of Madness (Xbox/Windows), and Call of Cthulhu: Tainted Legacy (PlayStation 2) were planned by Headfirst Productions. However, since the bankruptcy and liquidation of Headfirst in 2006, the future of these titles is in doubt. Currently, there have been no announced plans to pick these titles back up by any party, and until such announcements are made these games are effectively canceled.

I Love this game, totally awesome.
Shit man, I remember playing this and being scared out of my mind.
Was a good game, tbh.
Also a note, biggest freak out was when those 2 creatures came out of the darkness when you need to get across to the other side.
and when you walk around and you hear a scream and The Deep Ones appears...
I want to play this game so bad (D2D has/had it for $5), but I feel that it'll be like Penumbra and I won't finish it. :(
I wish they would make a sequel but the company apparently went bankrupt

Well. im sure you can complete this game, its not very scary, and the scary stuff more happens near the end... or at the start (Attack of the Fishman)
Its not as scary as Penumbra.
It's not scary, just eerie and a little creepy.
This game is so awesome.
First time I played it was about 2 years ago at a friends house.
I played the part when [sp]you're in the hotel and you have to run through rooms and bolt each door shut and push closets and whatnot, so the angry fishmen couldn't get you. I was so terrified all the time when I had to run without a weapon. When I got a weapon, the game kinda lost its terrifyingness[/sp]

It was a great game, but it could have been better. Remember the early trailers?
Canceled sequels

Bethesda owns the rights.
Strange World or whatever it's called is the closest hope to Lovecraftian gaming you can get.
Awesome game but might make you rage at some points.
Amazing game.
It's on sale on the UK Direct 2 Drive for £3.50. I was going to buy it the other day from Steam for £13.
It looks like a pretty interesting interpretation of The Shadow Over Innsmouth. I enjoyed watching the LP that Helloween4545 did of it.
Walters is a fucking badass. This is a great game.
[sp]Shame he dies in the end.[/sp]
Looks like a great game. I'd like to play it.

It's a good game but it isn't without its flaws.
i have a cthulhu avatar and think he's freakin awesome but i never played this game.
in my opinion both trailers were freaking awesome and i may wanna get it now.
This game is awesome. But it's not as scary as some people are saying. It's a game with some moments of scaryness, I admit that, but games like Penumbra are way scarier.
But it's a good game none the less.
Walters is a fucking badass. This is a great game.

that's the bad ending
i think
Good game for the first two hours or so.
Then you get guns and it goes down the shitter.
Good game from what I've played of it. I played maybe an hour or two in, still installed, just have a long line of games I still haven't beaten.
that's the bad ending
i think
[sp]Every main character dies / goes insane in the end of every H.P. Lovecraft creation. Nobody can handle the truth.[/sp]
It's a shame that this game is very buggy
Needs the series revived and sequel made, immediately. Just keep it as dark. In all ways.
It's a shame that this game is very buggy
And what bugs would those be? I watched a LP of the game and played through the game myself and didn't experience a single bug to my recollection, and if I did encounter any bugs they were inconsequential.
