I think there should at least be an option to not download Quake/Other sounds. Every server I join has some sort of Quake sound set you need to download in order to play. You can't cancel the download. Why do people do this? It takes forever to download the sounds anyway.

Well Valve tends to focus on getting that option on MP games that are still played more often, but I'm sure if you complain to Valve they'll do something about it.
I rage whenever I connect to a server that wants me to download 129313617936 custom models, textures, sounds and gay porn images. There is a feature that forces the game to reject downloads from servers in source games though.

The worst part about it is when they label it "quake sounds" and it's really from Unreal Tournament. Son of a fucking bitch.
I'm so tired of people calling them Quake sounds. I've even seen some think they originate from Counter-Strike or DotA.
