What about graphics tech demos? That thread doesn't have any of those, and the only good one that comes to mind at the moment is Lightsprint, so I'd definitely be interested in seeing more.

Nvidia's physx is kinda a graphics tech demo.
Crysis is the best tech demo out there.

Quake III is something like that I guess
I know, it's fun to play and all but compared to games that use it's engine it's more of a demo...
