Usually VPS hosters don't care about what you do on the servers (as long as it isn't illegal)
But depending on how you want to do VPS hosting.

[release]You could also host your own using Amazon EC2 for ~$63.22 / month (Although there is a hefty upfront charge, but I've Incorporated that into my pricing)
The math.
(The server is ~3.1 GHz Xeon 2 thread, 3.7 GB, Gigabit Ethernet. - Linux)
Per hour - 0.032 x 24 x 30 = $23.04 (That is the monthly cost because they charge per hour.)
$390 upfront fee, this is reserving the instance.
0.120 x 64 = $7.68 This is the price of 64 GB of data being downloaded from the server.
and $2 for the 20 GB of storage (this is not monthly, its only $0.1 / gb single time)[/release]
But you get complete control over the files, the system, etc.
That is about $0.50/slot if you had 128 slots.
$1/slot for 64 slots
$2/slot for 32 slots
$5.3/ slot for 12 slots.
