Info (copypasted shamelessly from their website)
Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game intended for digital distribution on the PC. It is being developed by veterans of Iron Lore entertainment, the makers of Titan Quest. Grim Dawn is being built with Crate's own improved version of the Iron Lore engine and toolset; the same technology used to create Titan Quest. As a spiritual successor, Grim Dawn will attempt to better perfect the magical formula of exploration, character advancement, and loot collection pioneered by Diablo.
Players will be thrust into the dark, war-torn world of Cairn where a once proud empire has been brought to ruin and the human race driven to the edge of extinction. Cairn has become ground zero of an eternal war between two otherworldly powers, one seeking to use human bodies as a resource, the other intent upon destroying the human race before that can happen. This cataclysmic war has not only decimated human civilization but is warping the very fabric of reality and, in its wake, giving life to new horrors.
For humankind it is the dawn of a grim new age where iron has replaced gold as currency and the importance of salt as a weapon makes it far too valuable to waste on food. Small enclaves of human survivors exist scattered throughout the world, holed up in hidden refuges. These humans have quietly watched the warring invaders destroy one another and have become wise to the strengths and vulnerabilities of their otherworldly foes. A few survivors have begun to exhibit strange new abilities after surviving possession or exposure to the warp. These unnatural powers are feared by some but give many new hope of launching a resistance to fight the "outsiders" and reclaim what's left of their world.

(also be sure to check out the video in the kickstarter page).
Looks pretty cool. I wish I had money to give though.
So many kickstarters, dear god.
Is it kickstarter season?

heh, it would appear so.
I do believe fans asked the devs to make a Kickstarter page, to help support the game even more.

Of course, if Tim Schafer hadn't made as much as he did there wouldn't be 20 new kickstarters for games every 5 minutes.

Kickstarters are the best what has happened in a while in gaming world. The games are done if the people want them to be done by donating. Also you usually get the game low priced drm free like 15$

Have to agree with this. People complain that devs pitching to publishers is annoying and then complain when the games are being pitched directly to them. Kickstarters are one of the best things happening to gaming.
Kickstarter is getting rather big to be honest, but I guess that's a good thing as we're going to see alot of promising games!
I want them all to be released this instant. :v
To me this sounds like some kind of mix between Diablo, since obviously it's a Diablo clone, Sacred, because it's a Diablo clone with an open world, and Warhammer, because of the warp.
Suprised these guys went with a kickstarter. Considering they were already partially funded by prebuys.
I remember this game, it looks pretty cool. I liked how it was a kind of post-apocalyptic Diablo.

It's a big pot of creativity for all the devs out there :v:
Looks neat, but I can't throw my money at everything
I wouldn't mind bigger games going through a process like this.
Games should be decided by the people who are going to play them. Kickstarter is helping make that come true.

I'm glad they did, I want this game to come out sooner.
Looks like a mix of Diablo/Champions of Norrath. Gameplay looks pretty fun.
Before people complain about this kickstarter, remember that this game has been in development for a long time, and there is actually content behind this kickstarter. It's the same devs from Titan Quest, and the game is actually in development.
Same people that worked on Titan Quest? I'm sold.
Heh, preordered the Legendary edition like a year ago.
I hope it's going to have a lot of improvements over Titan Quest. So far the gameplay looks very similar, except for some destructible scenery and rotatable camera. But even if it is just a Titan Quest reskin, I'd probably still buy it.
I guess as long as they add some new character classes (but preferably keep the whole mix & match capability from Titan Quest) and interesting new types of loot, I'd consider it a big enough improvement.
