Metro 2033 black screen, then exe has stopped working error!

Hey guys! I just got a few gifts from my cousin which includes Metro 2033 a few weeks ago.
Well anyway, I was very happy about it and couldn't play a lot, so I just finished Call Of Pripyat.
Anyway, I just installed Metro 2033 2 days ago, and it seemed not to work. I had some errors before, but I fixed them. Still, when I launch the game I see a black screen and my mouse pointer shows up for a few seconds, then I get a totally black screen and get crashed to my desktop and get a "exe not responding" for my Metro 2033 executable.
For one day, I was trying to fix it, but I desperately gave up. My specs are good for the game so I can play it fine. I have Windows XP and I have installed everything in the game's install folder (PhysX, DirectX, other stuff).
So, what should I do?
Cheers!
I heard that crap before. and happened to me as well. Just reinstall totally your Video drivers. ( Worked for me at least)
No. I can't do that. I just can't.
Last time I did that, I had to re-install my windows. No matter what or how I do it, it still won't work!
-Post pc specs.
-Manually update DX version and update gpu drivers.
-Post in tech support next time.

You need up to date video drivers. Wth are you scared to update them?
I heard this only happens with pirated versions. GG.

I also do believe that this is only in the pirated version:

Huh? I got the help to fix my DX problem in GameSpot and everyone says to me to go to the install folder.
