I've been playing this for the last few minutes and it is definitely addictive. Worth a download for sure.
Very nice. A lot better since WAYWO.
So you're saying it's like Audio Surf combined with Step Mania, and it's free?
So you're saying it's like Audio Surf combined with Step Mania, and it's free?
In a way, sort of. :P
This game is the sex. It is the best game to ever be created. I was not payed by the creator in any way to endorse this product.
This is what StepMania was lacking of play any song you like ! Any graphical updates in the future or so on ? EDIT:it crashes on any song i pick ://
This is what StepMania was lacking of play any song you like ! Any graphical updates in the future or so on ? EDIT:it crashes on any song i pick ://
Thanks, my goal was to try to take step mania and sort of extend it outwards. As for graphical updates, most likely yes. Always trying to make my game look good. :P Also, that's very weird. I haven't had it crash on any song before. It may be that the music file is corrupted in some manor. But it's weird that it's happening with every song. Can you send me a song that's not working at: theaustech@gmail.com And I'll take a look at it. : ) Also to everyone, I'm going to make changes to Beat Tapper's page in the future, to where you can see stats of people and highest scores and what not.
I've been playing it and it is a tad too easy. The single taps are a little repetitive too. It needs something like the actual DDR, with long notes and the half-steps. Good idea, bad execution. This is only my opinion.

Sorry about that. :/ *NOTE* FIXED CRASHING Also, I fixed the problem with songs crashing. I recommend everyone to re-download since this version is more stable. Links to download are the same. Just click it and get a stabler version. ;D
Now i can play the songs. And love it. Still a bit work on recognizing beats wouldn't do any harm. If there were some more advanced graphical options, and better graphics unlike programmer art then it would be awesome. oh and why i can't customise my controls don't like playing with arrow keys.

I did enjoy the game, I just needed more.

When you select the song you press arrow keys and the circles at the top fill up. I'd like to see you say level 4 is easy.
something like zxcv would be better controls arrow keys are confusing and shit
It crashes when I try to open my 40 gig music folder. :frown:
something like zxcv would be better controls arrow keys are confusing and shit
asdf is better imo because my keyboard is designed to let my hand rest on wasd. But agree 100% arrow keys are confusing. They aren't in a line.
i like to play stepmania as and with DOWN and RIGHT arrow keys. The perfect controls for me.
It crashes when I try to open my 40 gig music folder. :frown:
Holy shit. Hmm, could possibly be a rendering issue, drawing too many things. I'll see if I'm even clipping the not rendered areas. I'll check out the code and get back to it soon. Also, I will be drawing up plans for better graphics this weekend, and tinkering with the note placement and such. (Expect double notes instead of all single!) As for controls, that's what I'm gonna knock out right now so you can change the controls to your liking. I didn't get too far or the web development part. But I was looking at this during school and I was happy to see that people played this game while I wasn't at home. http://theaustech.110mb.com/BTCenter.php It just says how many songs were played and the total score of everyone together. Couldn't of got that high without ya all. Thanks so much for playing, and I'm glad you liked it! :D
I love music games, I'll try this out later.
Yeah man continue on improving this heh maybe even sell it on steam
Trying now.
I really like it, but I don't like having to use the arrow keys to hit the notes. If it were a string of keys that were side by side like "qwer" or "asdf" it would feel more natural. Or maybe you could just make it customizable, that would be even better.
While I didn't get a lot done today, I did manage to fulfil everyone's requests a little. [release] What's Added [release]
Control Modifying - Data/controls.ini holds control data. There's also a controls_code_sheet.txt to guide you and an example code for having asdf as the playing keys

Clipped Menu - Should - Should prevent crashing for folders with large amounts of music or contents

Multiple Notes - No longer all single notes. There will be notes where you have to hit 2 notes at a time.

Tweaked Note Placement - Notes should be a little bit more on beat.
[/release] [/release] Same download link in first post. But, if you don't want to scroll all the way up to the top for some reason... Download link right HERE! Enjoy, and tell me what you think! :D
