I really suggest you download this video it's a REALLY good video http://files.filefront.com/UltimateBattlegroundwmv/;9511535;/fileinfo.html :siren:THERE IS NOW A FREE TRIAL:siren: This is the wiki where you will find all the info you need Here is the main website Ok this game is so massive I can't fit all of it into one thread so if you want more just click on the above links. Battleground: Europe was originally released in June 2001 so this game has been on for 7 years. It's being developed by a small company in Texas called Cornered Rat Softeware (CRS or just the RATS). This small company is taking on a enormous challenge. It's an MMO FPS/FS/NS which stands for Massively Multilayer Online First Person Shooter/Flight Simulator/Naval Simulator but the Naval part of this game is not the shining area in this game. This game has gone through many patches which are released every few months or even weeks. Some people might complain about the visuals but they're really not that bad and visuals really don't make up a game. This is a Before and After picture of just how many changes this game has gone through. The current version is 1.28. This game is all about teamwork and communication. Bombers can come in and level bomb a city so the tanks and infantry on the ground can move into the city. The game uses a Brigade system which is managed by a High Command. Now don't be fooled by the visuals because this is a pretty demanding game. It's very demanding because the entire map is over 250,000 km big. There are 3 factions in this game: The British, the French, and the Germans. There are no Americans in this game. Now what I find the best thing about this game is the player base. Nearly everyone who plays this is in the ages of 20-60 years old. The community is also very helpful to new players. And the game dev are very close to the community. Changes have been made to the game based on suggestions from the community. Here are some videos: General Trailer: This is a pretty old video Some Air footage footage of an armour column TUTORIAL Wish I could get better footage of the ground war but I'm having no luck. If you register for this my ingame name is divided. If anybody else is a current player of this if you want you could add more info. This thread is very disorganized sorry it's really late here. :siren:THERE IS NOW A FREE TRIAL:siren:
I think they would get ALOT of players if they turned it free instead, and then put commericals up instead. I mean there is max. 500 players on each online at anytime, which isen't alot..

And the max players at peak point is actually at around 1000.
and with a map of 300.000 km2 that isen't alot to cover europe with.
and with a map of 300.000 km2 that isen't alot to cover europe with.
Isn't :eng101:
and with a map of 300.000 km2 that isen't alot to cover europe with.
It's a lot more of Europe than every other WW2 game.
Thank you techedronan, i meant ads yes. Yes it is alot more, but there also needs to be more players to fill it out rather then just 1000...
It's like a fucking tease, the 15 day trial never works for me. Some one give me their credit card number, My family doesn't use them and I wanna try the 14 day trial.
We already know. And the game is totally NOT worth it. I wasted money on this piece of shit, got super low FPS, super high lag, you need a joystick to drive vehicles, you always die in one shot, and it's basically CS with flat people instead of blocky people.

I tried it with my old computer which easily ran HL2: EP1 on all highs possible. It's not realistic either, it's just outright annoying to be using a keyboard AND a joystick to control a tank you can't see out of anyway. Also, with the "I'd love to see you live a shot" You're not funny, soldiers with light armor SHOULD be able to withstand some punishment.
They didn't wear armor. They wore simple leather/wool. Or other materials similar to those. I know they DID NOT use Kevlar at all.

And er they didn't have light armour. They had something called "clothes".

Although it's mostly only useful against grenades (which they barely protected against anyway, they actually weakened bullets better than shrapnel), it can still keep you alive. :eng101: Also, yes, comparing them does work, since Episode 1's graphics engine is greatly superior to this game's.
This game reminds me of Planetside, but not as cool.

And no comparing them doesn't work because source doesn't render 3 km worth of terrain and source definitely can't handle more than 100 units on screen at once. And this game is absolutely NOTHING like Counter Strike.
Thread fanboyism...
Haha are you kidding me? Whatever I'm just feeding a troll right now.
You are? I'm just trying to make a point. I have a feeling you think your join date proves me wrong. Flak jackets were used by bomber pilots man. Actually, many soldiers used them, almost all of them did. And no comparing them doesn't work because source doesn't render 3 km worth of terrain and source definitely can't handle more than 100 units on screen at once. Who cares? The game has FPS issues. End of. And this game is absolutely NOTHING like Counter Strike. It can be. /thread

I forgot to mention this game is aimed at more mature audiences.
Then I think both of you will be fine playing CS with the rest of the 5 year olds.
Then I think both of you will be fine playing CS with the rest of the 5 year olds.
Eh me? I don't play CS man
CS sucks, there's no skill involved, and I'm more mature than you, blindly defending a piece of shit that's always sucked.
CS sucks, there's no skill involved, and I'm more mature than you, blindly defending a piece of shit that's always sucked.
ya ok.
I think I'll stick to RO, thanks.
I will stick to RO, at least the maps aren't as big..
That's fine RO is better in some areas while WW2ol is better in others.
Thread fanboyism...
how is that fanboyism Edit:
CS sucks, there's no skill involved, and I'm more mature than you, blindly defending a piece of shit that's always sucked.
are you kidding, you are blindly insulting a game that someone made a thread about, thus being a troll. If you don't like it, why are you posting here?
how is that fanboyism
I have no idea. I also have no idea where he learned that soldiers in WW2 had flak jackets.
/thread
nope Edit:
I have no idea. I also have no idea where he learned that soldiers in WW2 had flak jackets.
they wore level 7 light armor Along with their state of the art light helmets back in WWII, didn't you know that?
