I live in the US, but I want to play on EU servers because I would believe they're more civilized and mature. Would I get really bad ping?
First you would need to make an EU account via eu.battle.net and then download the european client, after that activate your free 10 day trial and try and see how it goes :)

Do you play on EU servers?
The community is shit on every realm, EU or US.
Do you play on EU servers?
Yes i do, there's so much diversity on the european realms because of all the different countries, it's really refreshing. Bigger countries like Germany, France, Spain and Russia have their own realms because there's so many players and they tend not to be that good with english. You can still logon to them tho except for the Russian because your need their client and language pack i believe.
i like dutch people they always seem to be able to speak english really well

swedish people too
i fucking despise swedish people
Can't deny dutch people are both very friendly and very good with english whenever i've played with em.

Funny, on EU forums I see a lot of people willing to join US servers. And US to EU.
Anyway, I personally play on Sylvanas-EU since I live in Ireland. Mostly if I ask where are you from guys, I see many Danish, Swe, Serbian, Irish-GB. But nobody cares of that, if someone starts talking in his own language then he gets despised by the rest of community in-game. And kids? Well, kids everywhere are a problem. /ignore works fine.
As smfE said earlier, create trial EU account, and check yourself how will the ping be. Then this test will cost you nothing. And no, you don't have to re-download entire client, US and EU they are same. Changing few lines in World of Warcraft\Data\enUS\realmlist (notepad) is enough. Change to what, I'm afraid you will have to find else where, I don't remember for sure.
Want me to recruit u ?

heh, remember there was a night when 3 guys started speaking their own language in trade channel. Tried to report them to GM, and he said in response:
(short version) "I apologize, but we don't have such budget right now to create and maintain separate realms for each European country. Maybe in close future."
Yes, that's it! Kind a stupid that you open trinket about 3 annoying guys that can't simply group up and use Party Channel, but you get response about Blizzard Budget :/
Shattered Hand = 90% swedish people, like really. The trade-chat is basically only in swedish and there are -alot- of people on it. I'm glad I don't play there.
I prefer english when it comes to games and reality really.
I'm Dutch and indeed I always try to be as civilized as possible.
But I can assure you that the conversations between Dutch people are alot less civilized and mature.

BUT why would you prefer english over your native language?
My native language is actually bosnian though I've lived in Sweden for my entire life so Sweden is sort of my native language, anyhow, I prefer english because I can usually find the right words I'm looking for when I speak it though don't be mistaken, I always speak swedish with my friends and such, on instant messengers or so, if they know swedish.
Besides, I can pull better accents in english.
BUT why would you prefer english over your native language?
My first language is Russian, but when I had to choose between English and Russian WoW, I chose English without a doubts.
At the time when I was just starting WoW I knew Rus and lot better than Eng. English WoW is a lot easier to understand, and even text is more comfortable than Russian. Don't know, or maybe it's because I lived in Ireland more than 5 years now.
Besides of all that, I think English wow is "Original", so when I was starting WoW I wanted to play the original one, not some modification with other text, character sounds etc..
