• using multi touch with games

I saw a video on youtube of someone using a home-made multi touch setup, so I decided to build one myself. All you need is the community core vision software: http://ccv.nuigroup.com/ 1 webcam, and a piece of white paper. Really simple, so I adapted it to play video games too. Here's a video of me using my multi touch setup to control counter-strike source let me know what you think
Wait, you have a laptop with a state of the art glass multi touch trackpad and you instead opt for a hacked together cheap alternative?
Wait, you have a laptop with a state of the art glass multi touch trackpad and you instead opt for a hacked together cheap alternative?
haha, trust me I realize that. I plan to write some code up to try the trackpad out w/ half-life 2 once steam for mac comes out. This webcam stuff is pretty impressive though. All you need is a webcam and a piece of paper and you can make a multi touch surface as big as you want. 5 minute set up time too. I'm planning on expanding on this by designating hit areas on the surface to fire with, smooth everything out, and eventually i want to create a really big surface.
Draw some buttons on the paper and use it as keyboard :D
This looks interesting, to bad I don't have any glass tables.
Looks incredibly inefficient.
