Well, I've been following some guides and stuff on the offical World of Warcraft website, and I seem very interested about it. I have a few questions. 1) how long does it take to level up? 2) Which "class" or "alliance" is the best? At leveling ,etc. 3) What is an alliance? :) 4) What does "raiding" mean. That's all for now =)
1. Slow your first time. Fast with RaF 2. Bloodelf DK 3. Faction 4. Killing hard bosses with friends.
DK - Death Knight? Don't you need over level 60 for that? And whats a faction?
1) It is slow if you don't have a clue what you're doing, if you do then you should be ok. 2) There are no best classes, you play whatever you think is the best. I play Hunter and Rogue. 3) A faction is basically a team, the Horde have one side of the world, the Alliance have the other. Of course you can go into the Horde's territory if you're Alliance, but you're succumbed to being attacked in PvP realms, or if you have PvP toggled on (and so does the person you want to attack) For example, you cant go into horde territory and just attack every level 1 you see. 4) A raid is basically a big place with lots of NPC's and a few bosses to kill, most raids are more than 1 person.
Thanks for the answers.
Don't listen to them. Leveling up can take a long time your first time around if you don't know what you're doing. However, if you just stick with the LFG system and do lots of quests, you can hit 80 in a couple weeks. The easiest characters to level are paladins, druids, and hunters. Death Knights are also pretty easy to level, but you should probably stick to one of the first 9 classes for your first character. There is only one "Alliance", it is one of the two factions. The other is Horde. Choose Horde. It's better. A raid is an instance requiring more than 5 people to complete, generally 10, 25, or 40. "Raiding" can be a little more broad though, including any activity utilizing more than 5 people, but generally associated with going through the most recently added raids.
I have a few questions. 1) how long does it take to level up? 2) Which "class" or "alliance" is the best? At leveling ,etc. 3) What is an alliance? :) 4) What does "raiding" mean.
1) First time around, it takes ages, unless you find a friend who can help you do dungeons. After you hit 80 for the first time, it's much easier, you know what to do, where to go, give money from your 80 to your second character. 2) The best class at leveling for a beginner is the hunter. But any class is good if you use the right spec. Apart from 1-30ish with a mage. 3) The alliance is a faction. 4) Raiding is going into dungeons with the hardest bosses in the game. You uaually need 10 or 25 people to do a raid.
I would say you should try a few classes for a little bit and see which ones your prefer, find one you like and level with that, it isn't about levelling as fast as you can. There is very little difference between the Alliance and Horde, they both have kids and adults who play on both. The only difference is that Horde is full of elitists who think their faction is better and the alliance is full of overly defensive people who are easily offended. Raiding happens mostly at endgame (level 80 until cataclysm) and, as people have said before, consists of going up against difficult bosses with a group of people (normally 10 or 25 people per group). Raiding is the main source of PvE gear. PvP is sometimes chosen of raiding becuase some people prefer going up against other people instead of npc's, PvP offers gear at the same standard as raiding gear but it is more orientated towards PvP.

And get to 15 by doing quests, then farm random instance. 2# RaF you should be a tank or healer, then you get alot faster groups since you already got a tank & healer. So it goes very fast, the faction doesn't matter as long as you can either tank or heal ( requires two persons ofc ) 3# Alliance is a faction. 4# Raiding is forming a group of your friends and either strike the enemy players or the environment. Pretty sure you weren't serious when you asked "What is alliace?" But nonetheless I replied :)
