I want it to be kind of like that mission in cod4 where you go into that sky scraper and kill the guy and then gtfo. any ideas of a game kinda like that?
There's an arcade game called Silent Scope where you snipe people.
Hitman isn't always a sniping scenario, but Blood Money is probably the most fun assassin game out there because of all the variety. I'm pretty sure almost every mission gives you the option to snipe, though.
The Hitman series and a WW2 game called Sniper Elite.
You can try JFK reloaded, it doesn't involve getting there, but gives a really good simulator for sniping, apart from some bugs. It's free, so... worth a shot.

I'm surprised no one said Sniper elite yet
I'm surprised no one said Sniper elite yet
Except this guy:
The Hitman series and a WW2 game called Sniper Elite.
I don't know of any except Silent Scope, and that isn't a "realistic" sniping experience or anything. I personally have not played sniper elite.
Hitman and yeah there aren't many games except Sniper Elite which explains itself.
How about ArmA & ArmA II? You can make your own Sniping Scenarios.
If you got really desperate you could try creating a perch and sniping in Cortex Command (pillar or pointy mountain).
Maybe GTA4 like taking a sniper try to climb up buildings, which is fun and shoot some people.
JFK Reloaded :black101:
Sniper Elite isn't like CoD where your a superhuman who can fight off hordes of stupid russians. It's ALOT more tactical. You have been warned.
Counter-Strike, buy awp, pick a good position, bring hotdogs and just camp :)
Counter-Strike, buy awp, pick a good position, bring hotdogs and just camp :)
A game specified on sniping, not a bunnyhopping shitfest.
Counter-Strike, buy Scout, pick a good position, bring hotdogs and just camp :)
Fixed :)
Fixed :)
No. Broke.
No. Broke.
No, he most definitely fixed it. I'd take the Scout over the AWP any day of the week.
Awp is for noobs scout if for pros
Sniper Elite is great. It is a decent simulator.
Sniper Elite is great. It is a decent simulator.
Except the bullet drop is exaggerated to the point of almost being ridiculous. I shouldn't have to aim thirty feet above someone's head, when they're just across the street. I would go with Arma II, and make your own sniping missions.
Call of Duty. Online.
stop arguing about counter-strike snipers you dicks GTA games (especially gta4) are good for this, hunting unlimited if you have no shame.

Yes, which means it hits the ground in the same amount of time as a bullet you drop from the same height when you fire the gun. Say the gun is about 4 feet up, it takes half a second to hit the ground approximately, and assuming the bullet is flying at say 1200 feet per second, it'll hit the ground in 600 feet. Not very good for sniping... Although realistically you're not taking shots from too much further, you'd still need to adjust the scope to give a vertical component to the velocity, compensating for the fall due to gravity, so you actually hit that 4 foot height of the gun barrel (your crosshair) at the distance you want.
