• and good, and free space flight sims?

Hey I am looking for a space flight sim (as in a game like Evochron Legends, for example) that is free. The emphasis is on FREE, I don't want to be told about games like X3 and Evochron which I have to pay for (I would think they are great games though). To be more specific I am looking for a free roam game, without a storyline (or at least one that won't bother me too much, like freelancer...). If anyone knows of one of those games with the ability to go down to a planet (well, more than one I guess, otherwise there wouldn't be much space to explore, heheh) and fly around and see the ground and such. If you see any game like (that's free...) just post it here, all I need is a title (of course put a picture, description if you want... I'm not too picky...). Yea, I just need somethin to hold me over until "Infinity: The Quest for Earth" gets released.
beyond the red line ; google it noctis ; google it
beyond the red line is just a demo though, but one of the best flightsim i have ever played, when will they release the full game?

You can get a free cd key for Sins of a solar empire on this site http://www.cdaction.pl/seriale/ You have to register It's in polish but it's not that hard to understand. And you can only activate it with Impulse http://www.impulsedriven.com/
Noctis is a cool game, sadly I couldn't visit any planet, since I went a system with only gas giants... and the I ran out of fuel (lithium, in the game a certain lithium ion is used for fuel), just before I got to the system, so I may have to reinstall it. Beyond the Red Line could be good... but the demo is only a training mission... and if you played a freespace game before, it is utterly terrible...
Ad Astra seems nice, if it delivers what it promises. Didn't try it (yet) but seems pretty nice. Description kinda brings Noctis to mind, but with better graphics and ''only 110,000 stars'', and it was in the IGF some time ago also. http://www.a-astra.com/
I dabbled a bit with Vega Strike. It's the usual space sim type thing, trading, missions, killing, exploring, what makes it interesting is that to go between planets in a solar system you seamlessly accelerate to several times the speed of light to get there rather than teleporting. The interface isn't so easy to get into and the graphics will look a bit dated. But it's still pretty fun and has oodles of options for upgrading your ship, so you always feel as though you're making progress.
You called my name?
You called my name?
does the ticker freak out when you look at it

Vega Strike is pretty much the only one I know of other than Freespace 2 (VS though is more or less an "open world" style game, while freespace is mission-based). http://www.vega-strike.org
wow, I didn't realize I put "and.." instead of any...
