Is this effecting anyone else? I can't log in for shit 90% of the time, some of my friends can, and others can't. It has been going on for over a day now and its really pissing me off.

Haven't been able to play for a few days cos of college. Now I got some free time and I can't get on.
But I don't really care, I mean it's not a simple thing to run. Things can go wrong.
Why don't you have a Battle.net account then?
That blue post is just a scam to get us all to merge to battle.net! Also i'd prefer my account to be unhackable..

because of some carnage with security of merging a while back, i'll merge soon enough i'm sure

I won't be surprised if Old Login servers dont come back up after patch 3.3 or 4.0 is applied. Battle.Net will probably be required for Cataclysm seeing they are revamping WoW communication to go through BNet as well. We'll see.

They haven't specifically said it will be required for Cataclysm. They said it would be require at "some point" in the future. I'm guessing Cataclysm due to the battle.net improvements. I'll be glad to be proven wrong on this since it means my guess was correct. :)
WoW Technical forums = lots of idiots. We really need a million & 1 topics there saying "LOGIN SERVERS DOWN HELP PL0X!!!". More topics won't fix it any faster. But anyway, do what I did. Create a new e-mail(you'll never use) & merge the Account with that, atleast people won't get your e-mail as easy.
