This man (who's actor was jim french) helped me through desolate township, helping me fight the zombies, and sacrificed himself to save me, raising a gate to stem the tide of zombies. That man, was named, (spoilers!) father grigori! seriously, who didn't like this guy? His traps save me from zombies many times, his laughing keeping my spirits up, killing the last couple of zombies when I ran out of ammunition, handing me my first shotgun. God I miss that guy, and he went out in the best way a man can die, saving others (also he started a bonfire and fought zombies inside the inferno, screaming (run brother! there is no more you can do) Anyone else think this guy is worthy of as much adultationn as that OTHER zombie slaying oldie?
He made lots of epic traps. Lest we forget, Father Gregori.
Who said he died? He could have been hiding on Barney's train.
Who said he died? He could have been hiding on Barney's train.
Clever.
He runs into the crypt (If your game doesn't bug due to the way AI behaves) Considering the amount of headcrab zombies that come from it, it is logical to assume it has an underground network of tunnels, more than likely leading back to his church. There is also nothing to say Ravenholm was affected by the destruction of the citadel, or to give an accurate distance between it and City 17.
He is most likely dead, as he was a minor character. But he will be missed.
I don't think he died.
Father Grigori ? A minor character ? Better get your mind right son. This man deserves a medal.
He showed up for ONE level. What would you call that in a video game? Also given the circumstances of his last encounter, even if he survived the large zombie horde that he and Gordon stirred up, the destruction of the Citadel could have obliterated Ravenholm. The time and distances involved are sketchy, but as Gordon manages to reach Black Mesa East in about 2 to 3 hours or so, and Ravenholm is just outside Black Mesa East, it can be judged that Ravenholm is around 20-40km from City 17. Seeing as the forests outside City 17 are relatively untouched, it can be reasoned that Grigori escaped the Citadel explosion. It is not impossible that he escaped by waiting out the fire and running away, but being slightly insane, he may have fought to the end anyway.

It's kinda possible he had a shelter there to hide from the zombies. Even some parts of the Citadel itself are still visible after it explodes, so the destruction was not that strong. If he was deep enough, escaping/hiding from/fighting the zombie horde, he could have well enough survived the blast.
Its not gonna happen, but wouldn't it be awesome if both Father Grigori and Lamarr not only showed up in Episode 3, but did so in a bad ass way that saves your bacon? I could see some sort of shoot out taking a turn for the worse. Suddenly, heavy metal music starts blaring. Father Grigori rolls in on a motorcycle, with Lamarr in the sidecar. And they both look PISSED......
Maybe he went underground and somehow survived the explosion.
Someone email Gabe.
This does not belong here, but looking at how Charlie Bu. from Valve says that J.F. suicided... G'bai, the most memorable character of HL2. Ima' miss you. Anyway, i'll miss Bill more.
He runs into the crypt (If your game doesn't bug due to the way AI behaves)
he never did for me :(
why did i expected robert culp
He showed up for ONE level. What would you call that in a video game?
One level, yes, but what an awesome level ! And he was a badass motherfucker.
He showed up for ONE level. What would you call that in a video game?
The most beloved level in the entire game.
He showed up for ONE level. What would you call that in a video game?
Small part, MAJOR role. If it wasn't for Father Grigori, Gordon would most likely be dead.
"AHhahahAHHAhhAHahhahaHAAhHHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHHAHHHAahaha" My most remembered quote from that amazing mad bastard.
Wait, French is dead? :saddowns:
He isn't dead. His deed is done, bringing his fellow friends through a safe passade to heaven. Now he lives in white forest, helping his new bretheren bring the men and women who have fallen to the combine to the light.

The combine are winning. So far we lost Eli and the father. They only lost breen. I put Mossman MIA. we never actually seen her die.
The combine are winning. So far we lost Eli and the father. They only lost breen.
And about a kajillion footsoldiers, but that doesn't matter apparently.
"Look to your own... savlvation."
I meant the voice actor :v:
lolwat fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-
He showed up for ONE level.
Doesn't matter. All that matters was that he was memorable. Hell he gets more attention then some of the main characters.
He IS dead. There's a soundfile that relates to his death, which is a painful scream playing seconds before you enter the next level. I've heard it on every playthrough.
