I'm fairly certain something's bugged up, but I don't know what. Yesterday I could play DM especially at full HDR, everything maxed except Antialiasing, which tears a ton because I play in windowed mode.
Anyhow, I really don't understand it.

It starts out quite normal, running at 200+ FPS, then after around a minute and a half of playing, FPS instantly drops to around 10, even with HDR off etc.
Any suggestions? I've tried turning off HDR, building cubemaps, checking & defragging it, but I don't know what else to do. I'm fairly sure my GFX card could be dieing as it nearly overheated today before I blew the whole thing out.
Any help?
Make sure you have proper ventilation, it sounds like your graphics card is overheating.
I'm really starting to wonder about the whole thing. It's blowing out cool air, except now just about everything's lagging a second or two behind. I'm gonna try integrated graphics until I can get this figured out.
Specs I forgot to post:
Intel Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.22GHz per core
2 GB DDR2 RAM
nVidia GeForce 9400 GT
Is there any way to test the health of a graphics card side from playing a game?

Edit: Yeah, fan was clogged. Any way to get all fans to run at top speed for like an hour? The card is hotter than hell.
if all the fans are rnning at top speed then chances are your psu is going
No at this point I need to force them to cool off the graphics card. Anyhow thanks for the help guys.

No they're not running at top speed, he wants them to run at top speed
You can probably do it through the overclock interface in the nVidia control panel, ATI has one so nVidia probably do too
ntune is the program you need
As much as I know nTune is needed(which I have installed), mind being more specific as to what functions I would need?
nope I have ATI
This happened to me a long time ago on Gmod. I think I fixed it by playing in DX8 mode, or I got a new card, I can't really remember

I found my old thread, it didn't help at all. I'm not really sure what I did. I didn't get a new card, I know that.
Try reinstalling, if it doesn't work turn on Direct x 8 mode.
