How big is Azeroth?

You see games bragging about how big their play space is, but Blizzard never once revealed how big WoW is in terms of square miles or kilometers. The thing is, it has to be huge because it takes forever to get from one point to another, even on an epic flying mount.

For those of you dying to know the answer, well, Kalimdor is about 80 square miles as said by the source here: [url]http://tobolds.blogspot.com/2007/01/how-big-is-azeroth.html[/url]

But that does not include the Eastern Kingdoms, Northrend, or the Outland.

Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor combined is about the size of the Isle of Wight.

Kalimdor is about 15-20km in length because it takes 1,5 to 2 hours to cross it completely by foot (running 10km/hr)... I think...

.. and now they will make wow even smaller by implementling 310% mounts in azeroth aswell, as they did by granting epic mounts in level 40. It was fine up untill now, like wtf

Runescape is indeed bigger, I would guess the three islands (northrend, kalimdor and eastern kingdoms) are about the size of ireland
