Well, I've been getting tired of Call of Duty. So I'm thinking of going to the Halo series. But first, I'm wondering whether I should get Halo 3, or wait until Reach comes out. What should I get?
If you're looking for multiplayer, buy ODST since it has Halo 3 multi, and you'll get into the Reach beta too.
Get ODST, and play in the Reach beta in two weeks.
Problem solved.
I'm personally waiting for Reach myself but I may go back to 3 maybe. Team Fortress is the only game preventing me from playing Halo 3 (that and I need a new Gold card for my Xbox).
Eh, I suppose you're right.
As mentioned, if you just want multiplayer, pick up ODST. Campaign is iffy, firefight is alright, but it has all the multiplayer content plus the Reach beta key.
Well, I've been wanting to play Multiplayer. And doesn't ODST come with all of the map packs as well?
ODST comes with all the map packs and stuff.
ODST's campaign is shit compared to Halo 3 though, but if you're in for multiplayer, get ODST.
Reach is a little far out yet. It would be a long wait if you need something to play now.
If you haven't played Halo before don't bother with any of the SP, you won't understand a thing.
But if it's just for the MP, defi get ODST. All the DLC rolled up into one, and Halo 3 online is pretty addicting. Bungie sure knows their matchmaking.
ODST.
Unless you want a better campaign, then go with Halo 3.
Does ODST have forge mode like in Halo 3?
ODST.

No.
Again, if you want campaign start from the beginning. Halo is on XBL Originals. Halo 2 you'll have to get a physical copy.

Alright. Now all I have to do is work around the house for a bit and come up with the money. :D

In 2 weeks? try in 6 days.
I would suggest waiting for Reach
Get ODST, which has Halo 3 multiplayer. Play beta. 1 1/2 birds with one stone.
ODST's campaign isn't that bad, some levels are pretty fun. I also think Firefight is fun, especially with 4 players.
Oh, also, best thing about ODST is there are no flood levels.
Might as well get ODST, it comes with halos multiplayer with all the maps bundled in it, plus the reach beta. Halo 3's campaign was great, but if you want value for money, just get ODST.
imo just get both halo 3 is less than $20 and that will warm you up for halo reach
What the above said
Get ODST, and play in the Reach beta in two weeks.

It comes out in 6 days...

Beta starts in 5 days not 14, herp derp
Buy ODST, then if you like the Reach multiplayer buy it
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I don't see what value halo is. It seems hyped and it is. I voted wait.

The trilogy of video games have been praised as being among the best first-person shooters on a video game console, and are considered the Microsoft Xbox's "killer app". This has led to the term "Halo killer" being used to describe console games that aspire, or are considered, to be better than Halo. Fueled by the success of Halo: Combat Evolved, and immense marketing campaigns from publisher Microsoft, both sequels went on to break various sales records. Halo 3 sold more than US$170 million worth of copies in the first twenty-four hours of release, breaking the record set by Halo 2 three years prior. The games have sold over 27 million copies worldwide.
That's why.

It'sthe consoles equivalent Half Life series is why
It'sthe consoles equivalent Half Life series is why
I guess that makes it easier to understand.
It'sthe consoles equivalent Half Life series is why
That's right on the money actually. Halo CE was like the Half Life 1 of consoles. And same with Halo 2 and 3 except the part where there was almost no disagreement towards Half Life 2 + the episodes.
I thought that the odst SP was pretty fun, but mainly cuz of the magnum and the enviorment is pretty fun, but the actual plot isnt that great, I have only played firefight like 3 times, dont like it much
Ï must remind you that while the beta is in less than a week, the game doesn't actually come out until fall.
The beta comes out in six days?
Hopefully, ill match up with some of you on it. See you on the beta whens it out, guys!
