Im looking for something where I can select a country and build up their army, trade and make alliances and war other country's to eventually take over the world. something to that extent.
Empire total war looked great but its just a bit more then what my pc can handle.

they all look interesting.. I'm watching some reviews and seeing what one looks best. Europa Universalis 3 is looking like what I'm after.

Any of the Europa Universalis games, Victoria, or any of the Hearts of Iron games; any of the Total War games, although be aware that while they have nation building features, the focus is on the battles; and any of the Civilization or Call to Power games. Those aren't the only ones out there, but they are among the more successful ones, so they're among many people's favorites.

Only Total War is the one with the focus on battles. All of the Paradox games offer a good balance of military, economy, politics and all the other stuff you need to take care of to run a nation state.
