My max is 1.6mb/s, I get that on most steam downloads too. (Even though steam says 2.3mb/s with the new UI for some reason)
If you change the servers to some place that nobody lives in, you can get super fast speeds.
I thought 150 KB/s was average :(

It's 3am in Cambodia, not many will be using the servers, so you'll fare well.

It was 88 KB/s. Switching back to US - Atlanta
800kbps on average, can go up to 1.6mbps on lucky days or down to 100ish on busy ones
On a good day, 2.5-3MB/s.
On a bad day, 1-2MB/s.
And Radioactive, changing it to places nobody really uses CAN be helpful, but if you're going to do it, make sure that you don't live TOO far away or it will counteract itself.

Try Mexico or South America.
Highest I've gotten is 1.3 MB/s but on average its just 800KB/s.

Between 1 - 1.5 mb/s. I can download at 2.4 mb/s but steam never gives me that since the Scandinavian servers suck.
Average download speed is 1.6-1.8 MB/s, can go as high as 2.6 MB/s though.
About 3-400 kb/s.
Around 2.2 to 2.5 MB/s
Usually 220 kb/s
Upgradin' to something between 48-100 mb/s

Depends on what specifically I am downloading.
Over 1 MB/s when I am the only one on the network.
Less than 1 MB/s otherwise.
2.3mb/s wireless, 4mb/s wired.
