Right now I have 20 dollars to spend on a game of my choice, and I have heard that Torchlight is a good Diablo-like game. Is it really worth buying? What is Facepunch's opinion?
It's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it.
If it had online play, then yes it would. At it's current state I'd wait for a half off. It is a good game though.
Fun, but gets stale. Diablo had a bit more pizzaz to it somehow.
It's worth it if RPG's are your thing.
if you like diablo yes
http://www.direct2drive.com/promos/spring-sale/ $10 at Direct2Drive. Go get it. Don't say D2D is bad cause I've used it for several games and it's FINE.
Thanks Facepunch, I will probably get it as soon as I can, as I did enjoy Diablo and constantly play RPG games.
you could always just download the demo and try that before buying it.
incredibly boring incredibly fast.
It feels more like FATE than Diablo, if you've ever played that.
Yes
No no no no no no no no no no no no no. I loved Diablo, but this just sucks. The story is horrible, the gameplay is incredibly simple and dumb, and the game itself is just bad. You'll regret it.
It feels more like FATE than Diablo, if you've ever played that.
FATE and Torchlight have the same designer.
If you like Diablo and the like, then yes. It's pretty good fun.
There is no 'endgame' because the number of dungeons are infinite as are the levels inside each one so you only get bored once you have exhausted all of the loads of shit this game has to offer
Get the Titan Quest gold edition off steam, it's also $20 and has online play. Plus, the Immortal throne expansion in the gold edition.
To me it feels like an upgraded Diablo 2, just without multiplayer which is a shame.
To me it feels like an upgraded Diablo 2, just without multiplayer which is a shame.
They're making a Torchlight MMO, I believe this game was a small preview of the MMO itself.
