• Graphical issue in Penumbra: Overture

When I play Penumbra: Overture my computer won't show/ will show only the outline of non-collidable(tehe not a real word)objects i.e. small barrels and other things. These are also things I can't pick up or anything, so I'm not too worried about it. I'm using an ATI card, so I know it is attributed to that.

Specs.
AMD Athlon X2, ATI Radeon 3200 HD, 3 GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Home. My drivers are up-to-date by the way. P.S. If this issue can't be resolved, it is no biggie, it is only a minor nuisance, it impedes my gameplay in no way shape or form.
The game has huuuuge issues with ATI graphics cards. I do not know of a work around, but that is your issue
The game has huuuuge issues with ATI graphics cards. I do not know of a work around, but that is your issue
Well I just ran into another issue, I walked into a room and there was no floor. I could walk on it, but nothing was being rendered :(
This is why I stick to Nvidia cards. there are more poor performance and rendering issues with ATI cards then there is advantages. :frown:

Well thanks for the help everyone, but I don't think I can remedy this without getting an unofficial patch.
There is a patch for it on their site...! [editline]10:46PM[/editline] Wait, I'll try to find it. [editline]10:47PM[/editline] http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Penumbra-Collection-ATI-Hotfix.shtml Found this! That'll do it!
Is says I'm missing "SDL.dll" so it can't run.
Try updating the game with a new patch, then install the hotfix. I think I fixed it that way.
ATI is good but it's not so supported in games as Nvidia.
No problems on my Radeon HD 4770, except for the game not doing what games should do and detect the supported resolutions rather than hard coding them in.
This is why I stick to Nvidia cards. there are more poor performance and rendering issues with ATI cards then there is advantages. :frown:
But...but... my previous Nvidia sounded like a jet engine and it made less performace than my 4850... :saddowns:
This is why I stick to Nvidia cards. there are more poor performance and rendering issues with ATI cards then there is advantages. :frown:
You're retarded. What makes you think there isn't games with Nvidia rendering issues?
ATI is good but it's not so supported in games as Nvidia.
Nope. You're uneducated
