Hey Ive seen people put there half-life 1 maps on the dreamcast version of half-life 1. How would I go about doing to, anyone have any expirience. Ive seen people do it with CSDC and other mod ports to DC like They Hunger DC.
Why would you need that
Why would you need that
Because the dreamcast is epic. Anyone at all know how to do this properly.
Wait, HL1 was for the dreamcast?
This is MADNESS!
Why did people rate him dumb, it's a good question. Yes, you can mod your Half-Life Dreamcast files. The workflow, file formats is similar to PC version. Keep in mind, you're limited with Half-Life's entities.
Would it be warez if I asked for a RoM of this

Most ROMs are illegal so yes.

Yeah but Im sure someone from gearbox leaked it so download it if you want, you will find it on any torrent site, Id consider it abandon ware. And yeah I just love mapping and want to expand my modding to a easy to mod console. I guess I just look inside the Dreamcasts CD Image and try and figure out the stuff? Im sure Ill know when I see .bsp or whatever. Gotta try and edit the menu's aswell to link to my maps.
I'm guessing it should be fine. A dead, unreleased game on a dead, almost forgotton about console. Then again, I'm not a mod.

Hope it helps ~ZOMG.
Weren't they planning to release they hunger on the DC as a mod too?
Friend of mine played this. Dunno if its the same version, but the Blue Shift on it would just freeze and show some hex decimals on screen at some point in [sp]Xen[/sp]. It coulda been a bad version or a sign of it being incomplete.
I am aware the spoiler is most likely not needed. And don't ask as I have no idea where he got it from and it was about 6 years ago.
Unreleased, but finished
I brought Half Life 1 for dreamcast in the store. :colbert:
Maybe it was pirate disc or something..
Wait, do you own a dreamcast?
Yah, You got ripped off, the only copy of Half-life/Blueshift for DC is a leaked copy. And its basically finished.
Unreleased games, I am pretty sure that is warez man.

Roms are only "legal" (huge gray zone, don't ask) if you own the game originally.
Since HL1 was never released on Dreamcast you can't own this game so yes, it would be warez.

No. They were planning to release Opposing Force, but instead they went with Blue Shift.

There is a third-party team working on the port for the DC, I never said it was official, but a example mod.

Made my first simple map for DC half-life, runs fine; I just added it to the DC HL1 image, Works fine even made a link to it in the menu, map dc_test_scout.

Did you see who I quoted? Anyway, you can get PC stuff on working on Dreamcast. Like I said, the file formats are same, or similar. Dreamcast version doesn't have any entities from Opposing Force.
Edit: Oh, there's a port of They Hunger. Still, they don't have the entities from the original.
