I want it for Arma 3!
Uh, I can't tell if this is spam or not?
Why spam? Oh just because I'm new? Just because you think I'm advertising this? Nope, not spamming, I want to share with everyone about this amazing creation.
Pretty

holy graphics batman
That's pretty badass.
This looks beautiful.
Honestly I still think Arma 2 looks more realistic. Sure it doesn't have as many fancy effects, but you can almost mistake some of the trailers for actual documentary footage. Not quite the case for CryEngine I'm afraid, regardless of how nice it looks.
It's not all about fancy graphics, you can apply the most complicated shaders and techniques and be farther than photorealism than traditional shit.
This looks way better than ArmA 2. Not only does it look better, it will be much more optimized.
Epic

True, most screenshots from Arma2 look like a photo. I like arma for this. They have some kind of realistic gamma/tone mapping going, all other games look like games :v:
Only thing I didn't like was that the tornado didn't move the trees at all. Everything else was pretty awesome.
If this game there developing comes out, than I hope it's just as realistic as ArmA 2, if so, then we have the best game for the PC for 2011.

Look man it's not even new it looks exactly like Crysis did when it came out pretty much. In fact it looks like they just ripped half the assets right out of Crysis.
And Crysis, while nice looking, didn't exactly strive for photorealism.
Actually with all the motion blur and lens flare, I'd say Crysis did strive for photorealism.
ARMA 2 is closer to realism, especially the crazy night time ops in OA.
All real-time? Holy shit.
Woah, I almost thought the nightvision part was real. DAMN!

They didn't want photorealism. They called it "videorealism", which I suppose is some way of expressing a desire for realistic motion and noise. But it certainly didn't look real. Just very, very nice.

Right and "videorealism" is absolutely nothing like what happens in real life with your visual system.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
The point is Crysis takes looking nice over accuracy.
Bohemia has an almost religious purist approach to graphics. Which I take it is one of the big reasons it performs so terribly.
You know, I always wondered why no one attempted to make a module/library, something like PhysX, to implement into games and give them realistic ballistic physics and all other milsim physics.
so i don't get it
are these all to be part of a game or is it all just a showcase of what the cryengine can do?
i mean most of this stuff is just high cinematography over already known cryengine tools and effects
is this a game? it's so vague that it's almost uninteresting.

amazing physics like real calculated bullet drop and whatnot has always been a massive want for both tacsim players and developers alike but has never been properly achieved because of the immensive use of processing it'd require to do it.
nowdays i don't imagine that being too much of a problem, but it's still the day of watt-based processing and there's always limitations.

The point is you guys are about 4 years too late to be wowed by this sort of thing.
My god, I need a job. And I need to save money for like 6 months. And finally I need to by something that will run this and never leave my house again.
I've always thought that Crysis felt more like a game while Arma 2 felt more realistic. It's probably has to do with the movement style.

You mean the 600 dollar Crysis rig? In fact I'm pretty sure you could do it for cheaper now.
It'd have to pay pretty shit for you to have to save up that long for that.

Yeah, pretty much.
I want to see large-scale urban warfare with serious architectural and environmental destruction/deformation.
Then I'll be impressed.

i dont know dude i spent two grand on my rig and it still only kinda-sorta runs crysis at a good framerate.
then again i didn't get my rig for gaming either.
