For all of those who don't know this series, let me tell you the plot of the first game:
A long time ago, there was a evil sorcerer named Zarok. Who used to work as the kings personal sorcerer, but he was banished from the realm after trying experiments on the bodies of the dead.
Furious he retreated to the mountains and started to harvest the moon, creating shadow demons, then attacking the people of the land (the land is called Gallowmere by the way).
To respond to these attacks the kings Military leader Sir Daniel Fortesque, lead a charge against Zarok's horde.
But Fortesque was struck by the first arrow and it hit him in the eye killing him. But Daniel's army was victorious, and the coward Zarok retreated to his mountain labroatory.
100 years later the sorcerer returns, casting a spell called "Evernight" and drowning the world in gloom and despair.
He also casts a spell that ripped the life out of the residents at "sleeping village" and uses it to bring the dead to life.
But Daniel's corpse is brought back too.
And starts the game, pretty cool.
A year after that game was released SONY released Medievil 2. set in 1886 (500 years after medievil 1) more or less the same happens... with some new weapons and abilities.
After that the series died and was never heard from again.
THE CLOSEST THING WE GOT WAS A BLOODY PSP REMAKE WHICH WAS BAD.
It makes me sad that sony would abandon such a great series.
Has anyone else played this Playstation 1 classic and felt the same?
Has anyone else Lived through the level "pools of the ancient dead"?
Or is it just me?

Medievel is probably well IS the most underrated ps1 game out there
I would personally suck the game devs cock if he promised me a new game for ps3
The remake wasn't that bad, it was good, but could have been a lot better.

Well, Your right, but you cant really call it a remake.
They cut out levels, re-did the layout,
added a new plot and characters.
and made it Comedy-based.
I feel the same with a few old games. I bet later on people will feel the same with halo and stuff.
to make matters worse im soo desprate for a sequel that sometimes im close to crying when i think about it.

Oh shit I remember this game. I think I only ever played the demo but it was fucking awesome.
Played the second one a lot a long time ago, but I found the game hard at the time so I used cheats to beat it (I should replay it without cheats eventually).
I got the first one only two or so years ago, haven't gotten past the scarecrow farm level because it's just so damn boring, but the levels before were fine.
Interesting this thread came up. I started replaying the games about 3 days ago. Forgot how tough the scarecrows were
I heard about this game too. Too bad I never played it.
Medievil made a special appearance in Wipeout Pure as an unlockable ship
Fire kills scarecrows
Scarecrow fields was my favorite level.
use the fire club or flaming crossbow to kill them.
and run from the spinning ones.
Medievil did have comedy, just not as IN YOUR FACE as that FUCKING GENIE
FUCK HIM.
A great series though, the Hall of Heroes was so awesome.

Medieval was a fantastic game. I was always so terrified by it though.
I'm still afraid to fight the Stained Glass demon today.
I never played the actual games though I did play a demo of Medievil 2 on the PS1, I thought it was freaking awesome but I was so little and it was so scary.
I remember loving this game so much, but I think I was so young I hardly remember anything about it :smith:
Shit this made me nostalgia so damn hard.... Gunna have to go out and buy a PS1 and find these games.
I would rather have it dead than playing a casual garbage, sequel.

Loved this game so much I bought it again from the PSN store, shame the second is no where to be found unless I missed it, it wasn't quite as good but it was still pretty great.
