Hello, I'm here to talk about the best rally game in the existance (atleast for me!). The rally simulator: Information from wikipedia:
Richard Burns Rally (RBR) is a sim racing game, published by SCi and developed by Warthog with advice of WRC driver Richard Burns. It was released in July 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, and in October 2005 for Gizmondo. It simulates both classic and modern rallying, and is best known for its realistic physics engine. This game is considered by many gamers to be one of the most realistic and difficult racing simulators. RBR was not made to be modifiable, but despite this there are mods available due to a large online community. The game was originally an offline racing game but user created mods have enabled online play. A sequel to the game is unlikely, due to the death of Richard Burns in 2005. In addition, after the PC release, Warthog was sold to Gizmondo, who went bankrupt in 2006. Since the release, the publisher SCi Purchased Eidos Interactive in an all-share offer, winning a bidding war from then-former EA man John Riccitiello and Eidos management.

RICHARD BURNS RALLY is the first true rally simulation game, bringing the most realistic and exhilarating rally experience to all major gaming platforms. This true to life rallying requires tactics, intelligence and perseverance as well as speed, aggression and risk taking. Beginning at the Forest Experience Rally School in North Wales, Richard and co-driver Robert Reid will tutor each player in the tactics, preparation and skills required for rally driving, before the player joins a team and embarks on his career as a rally driver. There are additional game modes including a Richard Burns Challenge, where players get the chance to go head to head with Richard Burns and a 4-player 'hot-seat' multi-player gaming. Adding a new level of realism, RICHARD BURNS RALLY includes: * Unparalleled engine simulation modelled on genuine automotive information and individual car specs * Simulated car handling for a truly authentic feel * Pace notes authored by Robert Reid * Unique three dimensional track generation system, incorporating; potholes, rocks, puddles and ruts, with realistic depth and effects on the track and the cars * Truly dynamic and random weather all effecting the track and the car * Accurate car damage from engine fires and fuel leaks to brake loss and bodywork damage * Interactive 'real-time' service park with component based repair system * AI opponents with varying personalities and styles, resulting in different race results and crashes * Realistic spectators, who cheer as you speed past, sometimes stray onto the track, but will also help roll your car back if you venture off-road * Helicopter rescues from un-salvageable accidents With a selection of cars to choose from including; Peugeot 206, Citroen Xsara T4 and Subaru Impreza 2003 and set over a number of official Rally circuits from Britain and Japan to Finland and the French Alps. RICHARD BURNS RALLY will offer game fans a totally new experience in Rally games. Released on PS2, XBox and PC early 2004. Mods This game got a passionate fan base and they have made some sweet modifications to it, everything to changing the physics, adding maps and cars! I'll link you the most popular mod: http://www.virtualr.net/rsrbr-2012-released
Following their successful 2010 & 2011 versions, Rallysim has released the 2012 edition of their popular RSRBR mod for Richard Burns Rally. The mod gives the proven rally title a complete overhaul, adding lots of new features and content from the past decades of rallying to the simulation.
Try this game out, it's really fun if you're into rally games. Just don't think you'll be able to go into a hairpin at 100 kph... because you wont! (It's a simulator after all) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO USE A STEERING WHEEL
Sounds awesome. To get the mod do I need the original game?
I hate how all the rally drivers which have games based off them are dead
I hate how are all the rally drivers which have games based off them dead
Huh? damn it, didn't see ya edit
Huh? damn it, didn't see ya edit
I said something then edited it out then realized the grammar was screwed up
Played this awhile ago with a PS2 controller was really fun.
I might reinstall this..
Sounds awesome. To get the mod do I need the original game?
Don't think so... [editline]04:48PM[/editline]
I hate how all the rally drivers which have games based off them are dead
Colin McRae... :c [editline]04:48PM[/editline]
I might reinstall this..
Do so. It's fun as hell. With the mods it's even funnier.

Do I need to get all of the patches in order or can I just get patch 4?
The mod wont even install here. Gives this dumb error about not able to extract a dll while it is there.
Tried running as adminstrator? [editline]07:13PM[/editline]
Do I need to get all of the patches in order or can I just get patch 4?
Don't know really... I think you'll need all 4. Or just try the last patch.
Tried running as adminstrator? [editline]07:13PM[/editline] Don't know really... I think you'll need all 4. Or just try the last patch.
UAC is off and everything runs on administrator by default.
Hm, game doesn't even run on my computer, windows 7 x64. well it runs, but after the ads at the start I get no picture just sounds.
I remember enjoying the xbox demo.
Played it, rolled into the forest about 10 times [editline]10:52PM[/editline] I hate how different games have always different angles for wheel and I can't find one setting that feels good, except in LFS
It takes time getting into the game, but when you're good at it, it's fun as hell! [editline]12:38AM[/editline]
Hm, game doesn't even run on my computer, windows 7 x64. well it runs, but after the ads at the start I get no picture just sounds.
It runs for me... Tried compability mode? Download the latest patches for the game... That's what I have.
I didn't get running on win7 x64 at first but it somehow fixed itself, even wihout patching. Needed patches for force feedback to work though
Richard Burns Rally is a bit like brutal fucking death metal made by Satan and his friends. Fuck I love it so much but I have no money to buy it.
Everything in the car should be clickable like FSX addon planes :saddowns:
what for? :v: [editline]06:51AM[/editline]
Richard Burns Rally is a bit like brutal fucking death metal made by Satan and his friends. Fuck I love it so much but I have no money to buy it.
Isn't it like ten dollars now? Not that expensive...
I can't find this damn game anywhere. And now that I've seen the screenshots of those mods (it looks better than the first DiRT, holy shit) I NEED to find it.
Wow never knew of this mod. This is wicked sick. Installing now.
Can I see a helicopter rescue on youtube? Sounds awesome. This game makes me hard. Must go to Ebay now.
As a hardcore racing sim player, this game really shocked me with its amazing sense of speed without the need for silly FF or motion blur! This is a definite pick up for anyone who has enjoyed a challenge in racing games. RSRBR is difficult to install (French), but it is totally worth it once it is done. The car models are up to par with today's games and I don't see an end in support for it any time soon!
My dad bought this game a long time ago for the PS2.
I got the problem why the mod wasn't installing, I didn't reboot. okay what the fuck, I can't get the mod to run properly. I configure my car in that retard program and when I click GO, the thing crashes after loading the game. Then there is the moment I got it further then it loading the game, but then it crashed again when it was loading the stage.
Wow I didn't realise it had such a strong PC community, modding it to its full potential. I remember playing the demo on PS2. Fucking solid.
am i the only one who has never heard of this
This was Richard Burnsssss, WCTR!
Where the hell do I change the goddamn resolution [editline]08:40PM[/editline] And is there any pre-made modidfication for 900 degree wheel
