Ever since that big Steam UI update, I don't see any icons for the games I've made a shortcut on the desktop for. Did anybody here have a similar problem and how do I fix it?

Verify Integrity of game cache?
Just delete the shortcuts and recreate them.

Tried both, didn't work.
It sounds like it's a valve related mess up. Heard you can reinstall steam, and the games, and it'll come back, but only if you're that annoyed by the absence of the icons. Or you could also wait for another update when they fix it.

I tried reinstalling Steam/games, it didn't help.
I'll probably just remove the shortcuts and run the games via Steam until they fix it, I'm just slightly aggravated by it.
I went to the "Steam>steamapps>[username]/common" and made the shortcuts from the exe files.

Strange, there's no "common" folder in my Steam folder.
I used search, it's just not there.
Not in your steamapps???
Maybe that's just for non-valve games.
