Hello, I am currently in the making of an HD metroid prime texture pack for minecraft, and i need some assistance on getting the ripped textures. my macbook cannot run garry's mod, thus i need help getting decent images of the metroid prime texture templates. is there anyone who could help? or lead me in the right direction? thanks
As far as I know ripping from Metroid Prime/GameCube games is tough work.
Why rip them
Reconstruct them by hand, it isn't that hard.

Hell, there are even tile sets online for FREE.

What does this have to do with anything wtf
How the hell are you gonna do the elevators, especially since some of them start in say the East part of planet, and then suddenly in the North?

Easy, I can make it separate maps. and I can build each map with the elevators corresponding to a coordinate that is recorded in the session.lock file. you take that file and then replace it to the map that the elevator goes to. and then viola you spawn in the elevator of that map with the items that you had in the previous map! the session.lock records the xyz position, thus, I match the coordinates of the elevator room to the supposed lower or higher level's coordinates.

Dude, I meant the actual METROID PRIME textures as tilesets. not metroid 1 or 2 or even NES. the raw gamecube and/or wii version...

Holy crud. That'll help me in making a place I wanna build. But still.....I don't think it's possible to recreate all the places from Metroid Prime. Or access it. For example, several parts require double jump, morph ball, grapple beam, etc.
While I can't help you rip any textures, I do want to say that I think this is a really cool idea. Metroid Prime is probably my favorite game ever, and It'd be pretty sweet to see all of it's glorious textures in Minecraft.

I think he thinks that garry's mod is required to bring in the metroid prime models, maps and textures. Likely he saw Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War's models ported and rigged into garry's mod (the files are compatible) and thought that GMod was some sort of universal model eating, rigging and processing machine.
Or he could be apologizing because he's new and thinks that he won't be accepted unless he owns or plays the game that the forum's about.
Also I'd like to know what generation of macbook can't run Garry's Mod.

I know that garry's mod is not some sort of universal model processor, 3ds max does that sort of stuff better, even though i dont have it....
and my macbook is about 2 years old version 10.6.8 and is below leopard :(

Ever thought of adventurecraft? they have grappling hooks and the winged boots allow double jump. and you can now make a script that affects gravity so that the jumps aren't screwed up and can replicate samus's jumps. I'm not sure about the morph ball though, but I do have some ideas if adventurecraft is able to allow the kind of script im thinking about. maybe if the bottom half of your character's hit box was taken out with the hid of a button and the model was replaced with a morph ball model at the top half!

And the screw Attack? you can't just stop with one. and doing one with the Metroid Prime 2:echoes maps would be freakin' amazing. Plus, you have the Nether for the dark versions.

No brainer right there man, but the screw attack would be hellavu task to script :l
The nether being the dark world has too little blocks to be legitimately a dark world. What you CAN do is make it so that when you go through a portal you appear in a different area and you switch the texture sheet to one that has the dark world textures! and it becomes nighttime. fairly simple.
but either way, can anyone direct me to a page that has metroid prime level textures?
hello?
I'm sorry sir, we've done all we can but....
I think it's time to let go. You'll have to find a new thread. I'm sorry.

Okay, :(
I'll try the spriters resource then
If you really want prime textures just use the dolphin emulator and enable texture dumping.
But be aware that every single texture file you see while running through the world will be dumped.
Good luck finding the right files.
I only did that once, it was a hell of a job and the result wasn't even that promissing.

That is the problem, I can't run dolphin on my current computer.
It is a macbook, and until I get a better one, I won't have access to the textures any time soon :(
thanks for the help either way
though it would help a lot of someone were to post up a zip or rar or 7z file that has a folder containing a texture dump of one of the levels.
No one will help you. Just give up.

hey a man can dream can't he? and besides you don't speak for everyone. I've already met a few people willing to help me with this so your claim is null.

If you know people willing to help, why would you constantly ask in this thread despite everybody telling you otherwise.

Because.... who knows if someone who is more courteous then the upstarts around here will show up?
You're really beating a dead horse here.
