The Path Megathread
The Path is a horror game that was showcased at the Independent Games Festival. It was later released on Steam for £10, with the tagline "A Short Horror Game"
The Story
There really isn't that much of a story, it is much like the original version of Little Red Riding Hood, before the tales became for younger children. The Path starts off weirdly. It doesn't intent to build tensity from the moment of "Go!", instead it feels normal. However, most of what happens in the forest occurs when you let go. The game follows your trip through the forest. The goal is grandmas house. Once at grandmas house [sp]everything the girls touch propells them forward to their deaths.[/sp]

This game looks like one of those confusing complicated mindfuck games.
These guys also did that Graveyard game, they're aim is artistic and unique gameplay, this looks pretty creepy and nice.
Apparently it is quite a short game. But worth £10 for it's replay value
Yeah.
I like short games but with tons of replay value.
It's like L4D without zombehs
What are you smoking? It's nothing like Left 4 Dead.
Totally unrelated to Left 4 Dead - the game focuses more on Art than Zombies.
This game was made by the guys who did the graveyard.

I knew it!
Warning: Runs on any graphics card, but Intel Integrated Cards result in FPS lower than 5. If you have Intel Integrated Graphics, buy a PCI-E x16 card and put it in first! Otherwise, enjoy lag.
Man, it looks cool, but I can't justify spending $10 on what is essentially a short story in game form. I have better uses for $10, unfortunately.
I bit the bullet and purchased it. Was worth every penny.
If you like adventure games then this is a nice unique title to pick up. There's a lot to be found here, lots of unusual and intriguing things.
I can't really say much without giving too much away. Have you ever wandered around a slower paced adventure game for a while and ran into something so completely unexpected and unusual that it knocked your socks off? Multiply that by a few dozen times and you have an idea of what to expect.
However, be warned that this game is SLOW and may frustrate you if your the impatient type.
Sorry to commit necromancy on this thread, but I thought it was worth re-introducing to face punch.
