Penumbra. How the hell do you get out of the first room?

Dynamite on it all didn't work.

You mean the first section of the mine? You have to make a fuse out of a string, some baxtrin and gunpowder, and you have to find a big barrel of TNT you have to put in the dent at the collapsed part of the tunnel. You also need a lighter to light the string.

The room right at the beginning. With the num-locked door, the 3 boxes, the lockers and the dynamite

Side room, remove the shelf. Else I recommend youtube videos as walkthroughs, just stop when you think you'll get something spoiled.

Just flip the bookshelf in the other room. There's a hidden passage.

Or are you talking about the free tech demo, seeing as you never mentioned overture or black plague, and there is no dinamite in the first room of overture. In which case I can be of no assistance.

If you mean Black Plauge, you have to put the coin you find in the vice on the desk to flatten it and use it to open the vent.

OP has as much info as a post saying : how do I get past the first mission in GTA?

If it's Black Plague, you need to find the coin, make it really thin in that machine, and then use it to open the vent.
If it's Overture, You just walk out IIRC.
