Help me MMO subforum, I just don't know what to play any more.

Ever since I quit WoW (I've been playing it constantly since release and I really needed something new) I've been looking for something to fill the void. I've played pretty much all the main MMORPGs.. Age of Conan, WaR, LOTRO (granted I haven't played AoC since release and LOTRO in about a year) and I just can't find anything to fill the void.
What I mostly look for is something with good end-game content, the same sort of style and structure as WoW. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of giving Lord of the Rings another try even though I've just missed the "welcome back" weekend.
If your looking for WoW, why not just go back to WoW? There really aren't any games that you get the same gameplay from, and if that's what your looking for nothing else is going to feel right.
I'm not looking for WoW, I'm looking for a game to take WoW's place. What I meant by the same sort of style and structure is just from a raiding perspective, not the entire game.
Champions online :D
In the beta for that, loving it when I can actually log in. Right now I'm just getting a "Login Server is down" error
You might give Age of Conan a try (50/50). It is fun, but it lacks content though. I'm level 64 (Where 80 is max) after the two free weeks, AoC becomes more enjoyable at the higher levels.
everquest 2 is a fun game, it just lacks players in the low level content nowadays

do they have a free trial yet
all I remember is that AoC was incredibly unbalanced and a one hit shank fest past level 30 back when it first came out. I was an assassin and I killed nearly everything with a few skills and a hit.
I heard Runescape was great.

All I remember was that as soon as I hit 40 I became completely useless ;_;
Former ranger here
I tried Everquest II earlier last month, wasn't really my cup of tea (I think mostly because I just couldn't decide on a race/class combo.. There is such a thing as too much choice!)
Anyway, I've re downloaded LOTRO for the last day of the "welcome back week" and I'll see how I get on with that, anyone here play it?
I know the perfect mmo for you If you liked WoW I suggest Requiem Bloodymare or The Chronicles Of Spellborn trust me on this one Requiem bloodymare Is If you like PvP The Chronicles of spellborn Is If you like good character creation and very good gameplay also graphics. There Is another idea some people call this game gay but I had to try It and I gotta say It was a pretty good game try maple story It's really addicting for some weird reason. I've played all of these and the best Is probably Chronicles of spellborn and Requiem bloodymare I dont know It depends on what you like. Maple story has no pvp so....

Requiem Bloodymare is a horrible grinding game, theres no fun after first few hours.
Also try EVE online if you like flying spaceships on the internet.
Yeah I gotta admit Requiem was a very difficult game If you are going for a high level.
You could try neosteam if you like steampunk styled games, i have never played it myself though.

What about games that require less grind? Like MMORTS'ses? Not being an ass, I genuinely want to know.
thorny are you joking? I can't really tell.. But yeah there is a 7 day trial for Age of Conan. Been for awhile I think.
The MMO's I suggest for everyone who Is an mmo fan I've been playing mmo's since mist but thats not really a mmo It's just really old. But the best mmo's out at the moment:Chronicles Of Spellborn,Requiem Bloodymare,World Of Warcraft,Kingdom Under Fire 2 COC not the korean version and T9 which is releasing in about a month or two really check out my threads guys and if you want to keep up to date with the greatest mmo's pm me and I will give you a update on the most recent mmo and the most recent releases.

If you want a game that is like WoW that is also free, you might want to try Runes of Magic. It's WoW but a tad easier.
- Character customization is better (preset faces and hair but body sliders and you can use whatever colors for the hair, skin has like 6 or 7 preset colors)
- You can have two classes, one primary and one secondary, so you can be a battlemage or a scout (archer) priest. You do have to level them separately, though (when you get to level 10 and get your second class, your second class starts at level 1)
- Art style is extremely similar to WoW (the login screen looks almost exactly the same to me)
- Easier gameplay (not sure if this appeals to you, but I'm one of those guys that think WoW is extremely intimidating. For RoM I just watched a few videos on how to get started and now I know what to do.
- There is PVE and PVP.
Otherwise it's very similar to WoW. I recommend it, but the download will take some time (the client is 3.2 gigs) so you should watch this video first. It's what got me to play it:

Wait for Aion!
gild wars
I just downloaded and played Runes of Magic. :iia:
Sounds like you want Aion. It's like WoW but made for Koreans.
Wait for Aion!
Indeed. I played the Aion Closed Beta and thought it was amazing. It's everything you want and more, I totally suggest waiting for this game.
(In fact there are already a few private servers up, but uhhh.... You didn't get that from me...)
Guild Wars.
How about something completely different such as Wurm Online or Haven and Hearth?
I don't think you'll find too many other games with as much content as WoW can churn out from their 150 million dollars a month in subscriptions.
Runescape is a great game imo, as you pretty much never run out of things to do. In WoW, all you do is train(from my expirence) and the quests are boring, you don't get that sense of satisfaction after completing them. In RS, the whole game has its own storyline, and the more quests you do the more you get to learn about the game and the people(NPC's, you know what i mean) in it, and how things came to be. It gets updated every month, there are tons of minigames, and best of all its FREE TO PLAY, but you can pay $5.95 a month, and NO DOWNLOADING AND UPDATING, all straight from your browser. Sure its not as massive as WoW, but we all know that WoW is a life stealer, luring you in like a kid to a van full of candy, and it will never let you go without a fight.
