I used to play it way back when I first got my fat version ds.
It was pretty awesome and a great timewaster finding fossils and shit, but it was also sadly incredibly gay, furryfied and I hated Tom nook. :v:

I really loved it until I found Rune Factory/Harvest Moon. Animal Crossing just feels... pointless after a while.
