If you don't know already, Assault Tech 1 is a fanmade Mechwarrior style game that combines elements of both Mechwarrior 2 and 3.
If you've never heard of this and are completely clueless then go look around on mektek's website first!
Anyway, there are a lot of graphics upgrades and optimizations that have made since last release. Controls work better and can now be customized. Joystick support has been added.
Multiplayer and Campaign are not available yet however.
Keep in mind that the game is unfinished and as such doesn't have a user's guide or manual yet, so you'll have to look that up yourself for now.
This is also the first game or mod that will use Mektek's MTX installer, downloader, and patcher. You do not need to have it running to run the game, you only need it running to install or update the game.

I keep getting shutdown and can't move.
Never mind I Just happened to have the shutdown key bound also to my reverse key.
