• Should I get TF2 or Portal?

I've already decided, stop suggesting I'm debating which game to get. I can get one right now, but I'm not sure which one. I've read mixed reviews of both of them. Portal Pros: challenging, addictive, neat concept, custom maps/mods Cons: very short game, no multiplayer, just a few achievements TF2 Pros: cool team/class-based gameplay, several gamemodes, achievements - and TONS of them Cons: already have CSS which is similar, graphics which might be hard on my game-hating laptop tl;dr which one is better/more worthwhile Edit: I've also played Portal: The First Slice, so I have more grasp on the gameplay
Wait for portal 2.
TF2, IMO. You'll get a lot more game time on there than Portal. Portal is short, TF2 has limitless replayability.
You'll get so much more out of TF2.
Wait for portal 2.
But I'm impatient :c
Get ten more bucks and buy The Orange Box.
TF2 or do as Swiket said.
Get ten more bucks and buy The Orange Box.
I would, but I'm running insanely low on disk space and I never really cared enough about sci-fi to get HL2. At this point, I am probably going to get TF2, but I'll just wait about another page or so because I want to see some more in-depth opinions about the two.
It begins with Team and ends with Fortress 2.
It begins with Team and ends with Fortress 2.
This
1. buy orange box 2. install portal 3. finish portal 4. uninstall portal 5. install TF2 6. ??? 7. PROFIT
1. buy orange box 2. install portal 3. finish portal 4. uninstall portal 5. install TF2 6. ??? 7. PROFIT
He said he doesn't have enough HDD space for OB
The orange box. Kill two birds with one stone.

That does not matter, OB is not one 14gb install. each game installs indiviually
tf2 you will finish portal in like 4 hours
You don't have to download Half Life 2 if you purchase it, you know.
ITT it's only worth the money if I get some use out of it.
already have CSS which is similar Are you batshit INSANE
You might as well get the Orange Box, it is probably worth getting something that has all five of those games for $30 than to pay over $40 to get both or over $80 to get them all individually. I would say get them all for $30 by getting the Orange Box, worth the price. As for HDD space, you could do what ace_of_spades said (with the Orange Box, you can always reinstall any of the games, they ARE installed individually), or find something on your Hard disk you do not need and delete it. There is always something you may not need on your hard drive. I will let you decide though. :)
Get TF2 watch a Let's play portal Video. EDIT: Or do the guy above
He said he doesn't have enough HDD space for OB
Just because you own the OB doesn't mean you have to install all the games at once.
I've played Portal for about 20 hours since 2007. Compare that to TF2 which has lasted me almost 1,500.
already have CSS which is similar Are you batshit INSANE
Maybe
You might as well get the Orange Box, it is probably worth getting something that has all five of those games for $30 than to pay over $40 to get both or over $80 to get them all individually. If the game is not as worthwhile as people say then I'd rather buy something that is. My ISP sucks and it would be tedious to wait forever for something to re-download when I want to play it. I'm saving up to possibly buy a 1tb hard drive though. I'm gonna go try getting TF2 now. Thanks for the answers, everyone. I was this close to buying Portal :S Edit: Just bought TF2
Late.
Tf2.
Tf2.
Gluckwunsche on reading

60% done. This is taking for fucking ever.
You are so fucking irrational.
not buying both games + full hard drive + crap ISP ≠ irrational
60% done. This is taking for fucking ever. not buying both games + full hard drive + crap ISP ≠ irrational
There is this magical thing called not needing to install all games you own and STORES! You know that place that you can buy disks for the games?
