In case you don't know what it is, here's a summary. It's basically a lego-based sandbox game, kind of like Garry's Mod, but intended for less mature audiences. People can create their own levels and share them to gain "Tickets", a currency that lets them buy items at the store. It quickly developed a character customization system like a certain FPS we all know [sp] TF2 [/sp] but even more in-detail, letting you make shirts and pants. You can only make these if you're in "Builder's Club", which is a subscription that gives you the second, more powerful currency (known as "Robux"). You can sell your items on the market to gain Robux and Tix. Obviously the Roblox team saw this as a great opportunity and developed "Turbo Builder's Club" and "Outrageous Builder's Club", which was obviously a dick move. Then they developed "limited" items, where there are only a select amount available and the owners of them can sell them at their own price. Then they started making "body shapes", at which point I gave them the bird and left. Oh, and don't even get me STARTED on the forum there. *shivers*
Immediately when I re-installed it I noticed there were Builder's Club-only levels. They looked like shit anyway so I moved on.
I recalled one of my favorite levels, Balefire DM, where you get to shoot pillars of fire at other people. I joined and instantly got in a conversation.

Communications haven't changed much. After one minute of playing, I realized that I keep killing myself with my own fire. I leave to a freezetag server.

At least they improved the GUI. And you can still trip at random.

Dat face.

Cmon Michael Jackson, turn around and touch me! Er, bump into me. Just not below the torso.

Er....
After that, I decide to make my own level. I start wondering where the hell the toolbox is.

Finally, I find it, and generate a plate. Now we're cookin!

Then I enlarge it and make it a dirt color.

After 2 seconds in Gimp, I have the entrance to the labyrinth I'm building! Super cheesy, but the community, being in elementary school, shouldn't give a damn.

Should I continue building it in my never-ending quest to get fame and money? Or just kick this game in the face and forget I ever did this?
Roblox is shit.
Glorious Blockland master race.

I'd be playing it if I hadn't lost my fucking key.
Roblox. God... the memories...
A Lego Rip-off? Let's Play Roblox!
Let's not.
I remember this... I had fun with the dumb little TRY TO SURVIVE THIS TRAIN CRASHING INTO A WALL AND EXPLODING levels. Then I found blockland. Never went back.
It's a shame that games has such awful controls, that's one of the things that completely ruins that game for me.
let's not
Here I quote the 6-year-olds of roblox: OMG U N00B U KIllED mE I M REPORTING YOU NUB!1!1
Since there's so much ranting in here [sp] I saw it coming [/sp], just use this thread for that. I'll make a lets play out of another game.
Blockland it is then
I remember this. My map was in a Roblox Ad on Newgrounds once.

If we make a maze, we have to make a FP rank that gets guns that can kill players. Everyone else just gets to place a spawn block or something.
Blockland = Not worth the money
Roblox = Not worth much of anything
Actual Legos = Nothing but star wars bullshit now
Is our generation dying?

*High fives* I haven't played Blockland in a loong time though. I played Roblox for a VERY breif time before the game had an HD update in like 2008. Roblox is still lame I see.
I played a One VS All gamemode where the one guy was a huge giant and we had to shoot him with bouncy balls. Then some guy kept shooting balls at me until I fell of the playing ground and ragequitted.

Roblox = Free
Kids enjoy free stuff.
Free stuff leads to lots of kids.
Lots of kids leads to lots of griefing.
Lots of griefing leads to shitty community.
see what's happening now?
My 9 year old sister plays roblox.
My imagination died in that game. Couldn't learn scripting.
I remember this. Left it when I found out about Garry's Mod and it started going truly downhill. Actually, I discovered Roblox in a Newgrounds ad.

see what's happening now?
That's true, but I doubt we'd have enough FPers who are willing to play roblox at all to have an FP only server (Or whatever the hell they call them)
I remember this game, I've played it in 2007. I also remember that most of the maps were reskinned (i.e. TRANSFORMERS SWORD ON HEIGHTS), the community was awful too. Then I found blockland when I played with my old shit PC, and found the deathmatches better. When I recieved a new PC, I abandoned it.
I remember this game. I remember playing Deathrun ripoffs, and buying Builders Club to discover that when it runs out your levels go 'Poof!'. I remember the lag and crashing and infected Lua scripts.
Oh yeah, Blockland.
Glorious Minecraft Overlords.

Physics, minigames, contraptions that work.
If you like to build stuff, get blockland.
Me and my friend used to play it a lot, the scripting in the game used lua, and was rudimentary but useful. I left about the time the devs became money-grubbing dickwads. The community is and was shit most of the time.
I'd get blockland if I had the money
I'd probably get minecraft first though.
This looks like it would be fun, but it also looks very unpolished. From what I hear the community is really crap too.
