I'm looking for some games where you can set up ambushes and rely on hit-and-run tactics. I've tried Red Faction: Guerrilla and Far Cry 2, and they seem to fit the bill closely. Any other games similar to these?
well if you have the time you can do this in arma 2
I'm DrFire, remember ArmA runs like molasses on my computer.

Frozen Synapse.
You can do this in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, though it can be difficult at times.
Yea, my friend and I could never get it to work in BC2. All the time the enemy vehicles would take an alternate route, or we would die.
Red Faction: Guerrilla :v:
Funnily enough Red Faction: Guerilla doesn't have a lot of guerilla tactics.
The Saboteur kind of has this. You can do hit and run attacks on Nazi checkpoints.
Red Orchestra or Hitman Blood money (mostly because its just a good game, not too related) [editline]10:36PM[/editline] Thief and STALKER
Project reality It's a great bf2 mod.
I seconded on The Saboteur. Although it gets boring after a while.

You could look all over cherno for the bases.. set up mines etc.. or then go in and blow shit up
Even though this game is 17 years old, there's still nothing like this today.
MobyGames is such a classic.

Battlefield Vietnam.
Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe, it's free and even has online co-op.
Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe, it's free and even has online co-op.
I bought hidden and dangerous 2 for 90 cents at gamestop, best 90 cents I ever spent.
Assasins creed (ambush, not guerilla) , Crysis, Just cause 2. I cant really think of any more...
Iron Grip Warlord. It's steampunk, I know, but your still a guerilla fighter. You can deploy things like landmines, satchel charges, set up mg nests and assassinate officers too. Try it if you ever get a chance.
You can do this in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, though it can be difficult at times.
Its not that hard. When you are defending just plant a ton of charges where tanks go and hide. I do this all the time and its awesome.
A lot of strategy in Project Reality involves maneuvering into position and ambushing, especially on maps with insurgent forces, such as Fallujah.
L4d/2 as infected?
Well, Iron Grip has a certain guerilla feel to it. A shame that there is a lack of games in this style. Because it's awesome.
I'm DrFire, remember ArmA runs like molasses on my computer.
Oh that's who you are. I like to know who is on my FL, heh.
