But i do miss some core elements. Special Thanks to my fellow dA members that help me made this possible with the first server a few months back. A few months back I had created a gametype that was a custom server to simulate more realism in Battlefield 3. It was a great success, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to continue the development. After sending many request to Moderators and DICE members I never got an answer back, so I am hoping for the community to support me in getting as many votes as possible in Satisfaction to hopefully be able to launch this gametype one day or make notice for DICE to bring back the Custom Server Search option in the Battleblog Multiplayer gametype. Below is a big thread of the post and testing I had done over the course of the time. I still have the settings if any server owner will like to run these realistic settings. I’ll be more than glad to send them to you in hope of one day playing this all the time. DICE if you won’t support this and please allow us to have the Custom Server Search button that used to exist in the Multiplayer Gametype Server (Hardcore, Normal, Infantry) Below this thread is the original I had posted a few months back. The only way to see your map is my pressing ESC make sure to see where friendlies are located and careful someone can creep up during this time. Tactics & Changes ----------------------------- Tactics are key to this game mode. Mortars: require a spotter to know where the shots are landing, no mini map for Mortars it is disabled. Spawn times increased to 45 seconds + 12 seconds down time. So make sure to have a medic. Going lone wolf will keep you dead for long periods of time. Soldier downtime is increased so medics have a bigger window of opportunity to revive. Vehicle spawn time has been heavily increased. Vehicles are rare on the Battlefield and are essential, they can turn the tide of the battle with proper use. Firefight's felt scary, knowing 2 hits anywhere would kill you and 1 head shot is certain death. And once you were dead you wouldn't be coming back into the match for a while if no medic was around. It was a struggle from both sides taking cover and using tactics to take out the enemy. This was made possible due to the respawn times that where increased and allowed you to have time to flank without worrying about someone else spawning right next to you or on their squad instantly. Every corner, street and alleyway was terrifying not knowing where the enemy was without the mini map. Your nerves would begin to eat you away deciding if it would be a good idea to cross the street or if the enemy had a MG emplacement somewhere around there, hidden, on a roof top or window. Running through streets, fields, buildings and seeing bullets fly everywhere would be nerve wrecking. Not to mention explosions where very scary, one would end your day. Vehicles have the same health like they do in Hardcore. But now they are to be feared for their raw power. Our engineers couldn't solo a Tank or APC. It was impossible, the vehicle mounted weapons where extremely deadly and their armor proved to be a hard challenge when infantry is so fragile against them. Coordinated attacks on a vehicle were a must. But the rear and sides where an easy target when the driver wasn't looking. Without the mini map vehicles proved to have a hard time finding ground targets and infantry in the brush of the woods or desert. C4 runs were successful 80% of the time if they didn’t have a gunner. (Down from 2 in Regular HC) ---------------------- Shotguns Buckshot deadly at a further distance now. Damage varies at range. Slug is a 1 hit kill. (semi-auto and pump) ---------------------- Pistols (haven't fully tested all of them out) 3 hits anywhere in the body is a kill (Down from 4 in Regular HC) 1 hit in the head is always a kill --------------------- Bigger caliber pistols .44, and Rex 1 shot kill anywhere in the body (Down from 2 in Regular HC) 2 shot killed required over a distance of 100m --------------------- LMG's 2 hits anywhere in body is a kill (Down from 4-5 in Regular HC) 3 hits anywhere in body over 100m is a kill (Down from 5+ Regular HC) 1 hit to the head is always a kill. (Down from 2 in Regular HC) --------------------- Bolt Action snipers 1 shot kill anywhere in the body. Wow, you can't take much hits. I guess Body Armor isn't mandatory in your server.
