Hey! Me and 3 other friends just upgraded the SHIT out of our computers and were wondering what games are great for LAN Parties? So far we have; L4D Series Crysis (Sandbox physics mode testing things, if it is MP) Gmod RTS games (World in Conflict and Command and Conquer) What are some other cool ones?
You don't seem to be hosting a proper LAN party. What you have here are you and your friends not knowing what you want to play when you get together. Those are all awful games for actual LAN parties
Killing Floor

I usually play Quake 3
css, cs 1.6, WoW () edit: no you're dumb
We're just trying to have fun.... Why don't you add some games you might play at a LAN party then???
parties dont consist of 4 people is what he was trying to say
parties dont consist of 4 people is what he was trying to say
ooh, alright then We just want to do some crazy coop stuff, OH and ArmA 2 So we're looking for some pretty heavy strategic games/game sthat we can just mess around with, hence Gmod and Crysis
My recommendations based on what we play at the parties I go to: Call of Duty and Counter-Strike are obvious choices, other good ones include Battlefield, HL2:DM (or CTF,) and Farcry 2. Note: These were good with around 20-30 people, I'd say they would be awful with 4.
Starcraft.

By definition a lan party is any amount of people from 2 to up to 10,000 was the highest I think. Don't underestimate the amount fun that can be had by a couple of friends sitting right next to each-other. As for me, I would recommend starcraft. Shit gets real.
Killing Floor FTW
Obviously L4D. It's meant for 4. I'd also recommend Killing Floor. I have no idea about any specific RTS, but anything would really do.
ArmA 2.
parties dont consist of 4 people is what he was trying to say
impromptu lan parties are usually pretty small actually 6-7 guys around there
I enjoyed playing borderlands with my friend, so if yours are willing to shell out $50 for it I'd also recommend that.
TF2 :eng101:
You could play defcon. Everyone destroys each other in the end, even if you and your friends have formed an alliance, so it's fit for LAN parties. It's on steam.
Company of Heroes, Starcraft, Counterstrike, any source mod.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert II. And Yuri's Revenge too. :science:
Sins of a Solar Empire
Any Unreal Tournament game.
Splinter cell chaos theory. 2 spies vs 2 mercs
Age of Empires II

Gruntz!
If it's a big ass party Battlefield 2.
When I did lan parties it was usually 4 people. Games we played: L4D Battle for Middle-Earth 2 (don't ask, they loved it) Freelancer Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Battlefield 1942 (we'd either go online or load up the other team with a crazy bot ratio) Serious Sam (any of them, they're all hilarious) Blood (one of the best FPS games ever, don't mind the graphics, you'll get past them quickly) Soldat Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Company of Heroes Supreme Commander Homeworld 2 (can't remember which mod we played) Swat 4 Doom (with the Skulltag engine, we would play the delta invasion mod... sweet jesus, saying there are hundreds of enemies at once is an understatement) X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (epic game, eventually computers got too good for this one to work at all) Though I've never played these ones LAN, I would also suggest: Arma 2 Medieval 2: Total War Clonk Rage Quake 1 and 2 (I know, I know, don't kill me for never playing these at a LAN party) Killing Floor Borderlands Red Orchestra Diablo 1 and 2 All I can think of now, and that's without looking at my game collection lol.
Starcraft II :smug: In all seriousness, SupCom, RA3, C&C3, WiC, TF2, CoD4
