• OBJECTION! The Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Series!

For general discussion of the worlds best (and only) attorney sim. The games in the Ace Attorney series are primarily adventure games, though they require the player to collect evidence and to present it to the witnesses when they are in court. The game is presented primarily using animated two-dimensional manga-like sprites, with text dialog, sound effects, and minimal spoken clips to simulate speech. There are two phases to each case, Investigation and Courtroom sessions. Investigation includes the ability to visit several key locations in the case and talk to people involved with it while searching for evidence by examining the scene; the second and third game also introduced the "Psyche-Lock," a system through which the defending attorney can break mental barriers to learn the truth from uncooperative witnesses during investigation. Players can present both evidence and, in the second and third games, profiles of people involved with the case. Courtroom sessions are generally made up of testimonies consisting of statements by witnesses. The player may cross-examine the witness to locate a contradiction by showing a piece of evidence that relates to what the witness has testified. The player may also "Press" the witness, asking the witness to clarify a statement. Sometimes pressing and presenting evidence will lead to additional statements added to the testimony. Presenting evidence successfully may also lead to new lines of testimony altogether and it is almost always the only way to proceed in the game. Occasionally the player will have to specifically prove their allegations, either through presentation of more evidence, or more careful examination of existing evidence. In the fourth game, the game introduces the Perceive system, which is active during some cross-examinations. During testimony, the player can activate the Perceive system to look closely at body language and actions that trigger when the witnesses state something untruthful (for example, their hands may twitch or they may swallow), and thus force the witnesses to respond truthfully. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney The first case of the game presents defense attorney Phoenix Wright at his first trial under Mia Fey's watchful eye, successfully defending his childhood friend Larry Butz for murder. However, in the game's second case, Mia is murdered for being aware of corporate blackmail, and her younger sister Maya Fey is charged with the crime because her name was found on a piece of evidence. While defending her, Phoenix is reintroduced to another childhood friend, Miles Edgeworth, who is the prosecutor for Maya's case and has established himself as a "genius" for the prosecution system. Maya is found not guilty of the crime, and becomes Phoenix's assistant in further cases, offering her channeling ability as a "Spirit Medium" of Kurain village to bring the spirit of Mia to help at critical times. Phoenix and Miles find that while they have their friendship from their youth, they continue to face off against each other in the courtroom. In one case, Miles is charged with murder, and Phoenix steps up to defend him. It is discovered that Miles was set up by his old mentor, Manfred von Karma. Several years earlier, Manfred shot and killed Miles' father, a defense attorney, after he ruined Manfred's perfect record, but led Miles to believe he shot his own father. Phoenix is able to expose Manfred's cover-up and achieve a "not guilty" verdict for Miles. After the case, Miles thinks about taking time off from his position to consider the events, while Maya announces she is going back to her home in Kurain Village to train. The player controls the protagonist of its predecessor, Phoenix Wright, as he defends clients in four court trials. Primary characters from the predecessor that appear in this title include Maya Fey, Miles Edgeworth, Mia Fey, and Dick Gumshoe. Two new primary characters include Pearl Fey and Franziska von Karma. Characters from the first title have supporting roles in this title, including Lotta Hart, Will Powers, and Wendy Oldbag. Phoenix wright, ace attorney: trials and tribulations Trials and Tribulations, like other games in the Ace Attorney series, consists of several cases and trials, called Turnabouts. In each of five Turnabouts, the player must defend their clients against murder charges. The player controls Mia Fey in the first and fourth cases, Phoenix Wright in the second, third, and fifth cases, and Miles Edgeworth in the fifth case. In four separate Turnabouts, the main character, Apollo Justice, must defend his clients against the charge of murder. After the first Turnabout, Apollo works for retired attorney Phoenix Wright, who lost his attorney's badge due to unknowingly falsifying evidence and now runs the "Wright Talent Agency" to support his adopted daughter, Trucy Wright, a magician from the disbanded Troupe Gramarye and who helps Apollo out during investigations and in court. Chronologically, the game appears to take place between Trials and Tribulations and Apollo Justice. The five cases are presented out of chronological order in the game, though each describe a series of common events connected to an international smuggling ring and the Great Thief Yatagarasu that seeks to expose the smuggling ring by "stealing the truth" and revealing the evidence to the public. You could start by spelling Wright right.
You could start by spelling Wright right.
i know how do i edit the title
This is an awful thread for an awesome series.
This is an awful thread for an awesome series.
just for 1 spelling error?
just for 1 spelling error?
No, for your insane lack of any detail whatsoever and the addition of "discuss" at the end. For starters, links to info that we could find ourselves don't help at all. And secondly, this is a forum, we don't need to be told to discuss.
just for 1 spelling error?
No. No description for games, no images of said games, etc.
any better
phoenix wright games were a bore for me it's mainly the fanbase that piss me off to no extent though and objection don't even get me fucking started on "objection!"
any better
Getting there. Maybe a different description for each game? And not all jammed up at the top?

edgeworth fans represent
I hope they release apollo justice and miles edgeworth for the wiiware since I don't have a DS or want to use an emulator since I can't find a good one.
Ok wow. I'm tempted to make a megathread of Phoenix Wright now, this is kinda painful to look through. That and the title is bothering me.
Did you actually call Phoenix Wright the only attorney simulator in the world?
Can't wait for the guys that made Farming simulator to make a Attorney version.
edgeworth fans represent
It seriously doesn't get better then edgeworth's conversations with pretty much everybody.
Miles edgeworth 2 fairly soon, any idea what it's about.
fixed the title for you
should have left it as a mark of shame
fixed the title for you
god i love you thanks. i know what you mean about the mystic shit usaokay. phoenix has his magmata or whatever that can read minds. that was okay but apollo justice. "i can sense habit because i haz magic braclet lol." now can we stop discussing how shit i am and talk about the game please.
it's mainly the fanbase that piss me off to no extent though
Eughhhhh. This argument is completely meaningless and is getting old. What does it matter how the fans act? How does this affect you in any way?
i seem to be the only person i know that has heard of this game besides my ict teachers. hmm. does anyone know what the hell the mason system was?
