Resistance and Liberation - A WW2 infrantry simulator - Games

[url]http://www.resistanceandliberation.com/[/url] Resistance and Liberation is a very unique mod. I haven't played a game that incorporates its level of realism while still being fast-paced. It is less clunkier than Red Orchestra in the fact that being close in front of a enemy submachinegunner will get you killed instantly instead of having him spray bullets all around you until he right clicks. People die in 1-2 hits, however, you can usually see your death coming rather than get shot and die after leaving cover for 2 seconds like a lot of realistic games. The game features three different weapon aiming modes, shoulder fire, loose ironsight, and tight ironsight. The gun sounds are beautiful and echo across the map. All the models and work done by the devs is of top-notch quality. I love this mod, really wish it would get back to proper development :( The people you can be playing with at the right time is amazing. You get some really awesome, weird and just bizarre moments in the game thanks to the 3D audio and players. Enjoyed it so much I started doing a series of videos on those moments inspired by when Criken did his video on it. Here are an example of those times I've had in RnL. It's actually the game that's inspired me to use my microphone in games more, when before I was just the silent one who would rather type than talk. I love RnL! My only real problem with it is that throwing grenades is really weird.

It was better in Alpha, I don't really understand why they changed it. All you had to do was use your mouse wheel to adjust the grenades power when priming, and then throw it.

I really should re download this, maybe it's a good thing that RO2 didn't turn out to be amazing like RO1 at the beginning, or I would think (like a lot of other people I know) RnL would be dead when it came out, according to you though it's not dead so thank god for that.

This question isn't really too appropriate here, but what exactly do I need to run this mod. I don't own any Half-Life games, but will any Source games work? Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, TF2, to be specific.

[/QUOTE] This reminds me of the time I was captured as a Prisoner way back in the early days on RnL. It was a 2v1 situation, so they just made me drop my weapons and one guy held me up in a building. I forget which map, but he ended up getting shot. I stole his rifle, but I didn't live long after that. Now I really want to play this again.

I remember joining a game one time, it was my first time so I was creeping along. A team-mate sprints over to me and yells at the top of his lungs "HOW'S IT GOING, MUFFIN TOP!". I could't respond since I was so startled, and then he said "WELL I GUESS ITS GOOD CMON LETS GO". I followed him around, and by god he just killed a ton of people while he waded through the streets. "Dammit Muffin-Top, get yo ash ovah here!". I ran over to him, and he dropped an extra 'nade for me. "Pick this up and toss it at ol' jerry o'er dere". He gave me tips and stuff on how to play, but in that weird accent and yelling a lot. I forgot his name.

Just started playing it. I was hooked until lag issues with the server made me quit. Fun game though. plenty of awkward and funny moments.

Ha, I killed you a bunch of times today, even got a bayonet kill on ya.

Going to download this, seems pretty fun

Godamnit. The only server and I'm banned for teamkilling. Which I'm sure as shit I didn't do.

Didn't the devs stop working on this? A little more work and this mod could have easily gone on steam. Actually, that might be what this mod needs to revive itself.

Oh for the love of god, all the servers have a ping of 500+ Does anyone have a server close to Oregon? Or I could set one up if people were willing to play.

Even if I wanted to join those laggy servers, I get an invalid Steam ID ticket anyway. Shit sucks.

Well I tried to play a real round today. We started with these Germans that kept ringing the bells in the church none stop, we tried to get up and couldn't because they were camping the tower, then we all went prone and laid on top of each other making an American sandwich, some Germans surrendered to us and became our pets, then we won somehow. Sadly it all ended when I accidently TK'd to many times and got automatically banned. Best simulator ever

when I played, we all were fisting each other and walked around with live grenades trying to see who could take out as many Jerry's as possible.
