ITT we discuss what you want the next "big" thing by valve to be, after L4D2 obviously. In this thread we will assume that valve will announce said big thing 2 weeks after L4D2, and sell it a month after announcement: so pretty quickly. I expect alot of people to shout out EP3, and I know I want it to. But frankly, I want to see whats happens with Adrian Shepard and Barney after Black Mesa. Maybe Opposing Force 2 and Blue Shift 2?
Why Blue Shift 2? That's dumb. Blue Shift ended, the events after it+hl+op4 happened before HL2, and the outcome of Blue Shift is HL2's Barney.
I'd like a Linear story bit for L4D, like crash course was from No mercy to Death toll...
Better be fucking episode three.

I never thought of that. you know, playing as a combine soldier / overwatch would be pretty awesome.

Me too. Only thing I'm hoping for that my PC will actually run it. EP2 barely ran on my PC, ate all my processing power and RAM at two points in the game.
I only hope that they don't use L4D2 engine but more of a modified EP2 engine.
Well, with all the advances they've made since '07, EP3's probably gonna be quite heavy along those lines...

L4D2 engine is just more optimized.

But what else would Valve do? They've got an epic saga of mankind's battle against an extradimensional empire (Half-Life), an alternate 1960's spytech comedic FPS (TF2), the story of a zombie virus outbreak (L4D), and recreations of WW2 (DoD) and the War on Terror (CS). What else would they do to fit their roster?
I liked Opposing Force because it gave a really good view from the other side of the battle (well, one of the sides, if it was Scientists vs. Military vs. Aliens), and really gives an example that things aren't always what they seem.
Opposing Force 2 would be cool from a Combine's point of view, if there were more aliens in HL2 (like if Alien Controllers, etc, were still around)

I believe we will see BS2 and OF2 after the end of the Half Life 2 saga, i doubt that we will see what happened to Barney in Episode 3

Portal 2, by my reckoning: episode 3, while much desired, probably won't rake in as much in comparison.
