The game is called Ravaged, a post-apocalyptic vehicular first-person shooter. Think Mad Max meets Battlefield where a group of resistance soldiers fight for humanity while scavengers look to control it all.
The game features over 30 vehicles and weapons, amazing post-apocalyptic maps and 10 classes to choose from.
About the Team
Established in 2009, 2 Dawn Games is a team of AAA game and indie developers dead set on bringing the fun back to games. Our team is made up of passionate gamers who have worked on games such as Desert Combat, DCON, the Battlefield series and more. We want this game to be fun and without the restrictions of a publisher, we can support the community the way we want to.

Well this game, unlike most kickstarters, is in pre-alpha and has been in the making for awhile (about 3 years). Anyways it seems promising, and they're going to have a beta this spring so that sounds good.
This game is being made by former members of Kaos, right? That doesn't give me high hopes. For those of you unaware, Kaos made Frontlines: Fuel of War (awful) and Homefront (awful).

It's also being made by guys from Battlefield 2's team and guys who made a popular BF1942 mod called Desert Combat. Besides, from gameplay on the teaser and vehicle previews it seems really fun.

Isn't that basically Kaos though? And I personally thought Frontlines was a pretty alright game, nothing special but certainly not awful.
This looks pretty interesting however, gonna keep an eye on it.
Not only does this look pretty cool, it's also the first time I've ever heard of "kicking it forward".

frontlines was an ok game imo
I would love to support these guys, but I just cannot see the game lasting long, the price point I feel is too steep (to have a successful indie FPS now you really should be looking at the F2P market with Tribes and Blacklight) and with such big player counts on servers as well (64 players) I'd imagine it will be hard to get into a full match to enjoy the full effect of the game a few weeks after the release.
Plus with the "- All Weapons, Vehicles, Maps Unlocked for the shipping game" seems like they are going to push day 1 DLC which I'm against as it will split the community straight away.
However I will stand by to be proven wrong when the game releases :)
Looks like something Rage should've been.

I would hate to see this die weeks after release, or never kick off at all. It looks like a great deal of fun.
Wow the statue of liberty looks way too big, that is like the first thing I noticed.
saw this on the UDK forums
it's a high quality project but imo the gameplay just looks rough and.. idk, not very fun? i mean the vehicular stuff looks cool but infantry combat looks/feels clunky and weird, and i'm not really sure what makes the game unique apart from cool art. it just seems like something that will fizzle out because they focused more on aesthetics and design than making a fun game. i'm probably just being a cunt though.

for some reason i cant quote so
@luckyg
as long as the quality of the game warrants the price tag, the group developing it isn't important. an indie game can be worth $60 as long as the quality of the content is up to snuff. there's no reason for price point to be decided by developer status.
I think this would be better without the infantry/shooting combat. The vehicles are beautiful tho, I love that helicopter.

Remember it's pre-alpha, the infantry combat could be improved. But still, without infantry combat It'd be restricted and less diverse.

I really enjoyed Frontlines and Homefront wasn't that bad
Homefront was pretty terrible but Frontlines was awesome. Severely underrated; had the community stuck around longer I think it would've been a greater game.
Awesome to see ex-Trauma Studio, who got shafted $200K from EA/Dice, making a more true to heart Battlefield 1942-esque title than what Dice delivered with BF3.
Gyro-copter video reminds me of the awesome helocopter physics from BF1942. Heck, in Ravaged's UI looks similar to BF1942.

Sweet fuck.
This takes me back to the post apocalyptic mods for BF1942 and UT2004.
I don't know. I always am cautious about online shooters since they usually die no matter how promising. Section 8, Brink, to name a few. Meh, who knows.
Seems legit. RAGE with a focus on cars.
If this was an SP FPS I'd be all over it. But since it's an MP FPS I couldn't care less. Such a shame too, I love post-apoc shooters, racing games, and anything that wants to mix the two.
This looks really professional already, and they're asking for just 15k. Sure beats the fuck out of the 250k yogsventure huh?
holy shit 64 players? nice.

I'm gonna try to be optimistic and say that It'll stay alive for a good 6 months, and besides Brink was kinda shitty IMO and Section 8 was an okay game.
50% funded and trending quite well: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/2dawngames/ravaged/

Fantastic, and it looks like each day they get more money than the last.
Yikes, someone backed out of a $1000 pledge. >.<
