Just wanted to share my current project, no clue if any of you have even seen this before. It's Quake-based and for the PSP. Update 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR4oDXaF94w Update 2 w/fixed animations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojHfIr0zibg Update 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QD14_4T21c Update 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX-tdbdilvc Update 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GaDMSTLWfs The idea is to get something like Mirror's Edge as the final product. You can find the Moddb page here: http://www.moddb.com/games/cobalt-runner/ I am hiring an artist to model organic and non-organic models, as well as an animator. One thing I ask of you: Don't pop in this thread, look at the fact it's for the PSP, and immediately disregard it as crap, without taking a look. Thanks.
Lol, Dev Textures.
Personally, I think that's fucking awesome. Possibly the greatest thing made on the quake engine ever.
Hoyl shit
That looks pretty awesome, yo. My favorite part is how you didn't post the idea and be like, "Make this for me and I take credit plz kthxbai"
Awesome man, wish you the best of luck with this. What planned features do you have for this? Like any more weapons and stuff?
Lol, Dev Textures.
It's important to create maps fast and seperate graphical impressions from gameplay impressions.
It's important to create maps fast and seperate graphical impressions from gameplay impressions.
I know? I was just saying that they look exactly like the ones from Source.
Looks very good. Maybe you should integrate some kind of lock-on aiming, since aiming on the PSP is very difficult most of the time. Not auto-aim exactly but maybe some system that snaps onto the target when you aim near them, just like in Call of Duty.
I know? I was just saying that they look exactly like the ones from Source.
No, you said "lol, Dev Textures."
No, you said "lol, Dev Textures."
Crushed. But yeah, at first, just skimming the OP and watching the first vid I was like: "OK this is nothing special- just a basic fullbright map with no reticule and toggleable sites. Then I saw the other videos, and I was impressed. Good job!

I love it! You should map out a city, where you jump from skyscrapers and stuff.
Thanks for the positive comments :) The idea is to get something like Mirror's Edge as the final product. Here's the Moddb page: http://www.moddb.com/games/cobalt-runner/ I am hiring an artist to model organic and non-organic models, as well as an animator.
Why are you showing us the beta footage for Mirror's Edge from 2 years ago? :smug:
I can model quite a bit in Autodesk 3ds Max 2010, only hard surfaces though. [editline]10:47PM[/editline] And it's been ages since I even touched that program, checking if I still have it installed.
I can model weapons, especially lowpoly (which I assume is what you want, since this is both the quake engine and for PSP).
Allright, I have it installed.
Hope it gets ported to PC soon. Seems pretty awesome.
If you think you can model, PM me. Might be a PC port, dunno.
excellent job man.
is a pc port possible?
is a pc port possible?
Yes, and quite easy, seeing as it's Quake-based.
What planned features do you have for this? Like any more weapons and stuff?
Mostly about free running, rather than shooting, really.
Yes, and quite easy, seeing as it's Quake-based.
alright, just making sure your not doing some wacky psp-specific stuff.
Will this game have to run on Custom Firmware?
Yes please have a PC version, that'd be awesome :D
Are those CSS sounds I hear?
Maybe you could make a DS version? Quake runs pretty well on the DS. I'd be willing to test it :). This does look super awesome, and I would likely buy it. [editline]10:15PM[/editline] Or Wii, even. I could test for that as well.
This is the Quake engine? It looks amazing graphically for what it is (though that could change when actual textures come into play)
The roll animation is pretty bad so far, so are the hands when running, everything else is pure awesome.
