• PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games! (WARNING: LARGE IMAGES AHOY!)

PC Gamer has just released their favorite 100 PC games as of now, and I have to say that I am both outraged but unsurprised. I'm outraged that Oblivion rolled into third place, instead of Half-Life 2. Sure, Oblivion was awesome, but I wouldn't say that it could beat Half-Life 2. I'm unsurprised that WoW and Deus Ex ranked so highly. I mean, HL2 was the only fucking image on the front page! All your images are broken and your link to all scans is just a download of one page.
Which game ranked first? What place was Half-Life 2 in?
Grim Fandango is only 80? That's just nuts.
Deus Ex was first place. I don't know why they do this list, its always either Half-Life 2 or Deus Ex.
Which game ranked first? What place was Half-Life 2 in?
First is allways Deus Ex. no exceptions
I don't know why the images are broken. Imageshack isn't functioning either. Gonna try Filesmelt. EDIT: I think it might be functioning now.
Try using an Imgur album to upload them all.
Ew, how is Oblivion #3?
Portal was fantastic but way too short to qualify for 8th when there are so many amazing games out there
I'm not sure why gaming magazines always do lists of things. The only thing people seem to do is say how wrong the selections are.
hl2 doesn't deserve to be in the top 20
Portal and TF2 beat MineShit thank god
hl2 doesn't deserve to be in the top 20
I find myself agreeing. I didn't find Half Life 2's gameplay to be all that engaging. And I suppose that ultimately, if a game isn't fun to play then it isn't worth playing.
Ooh, radical arguments forming already? I'm impressed, Facepunch.
They have doom, but not jazz jackrabbit? heresy, I say.
what's this :effort:
what's this [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/169785beef5ceeca1d1e8dfbecfc61b8.png[/img_thumb] :effort:
My apologies. I didn't really check to see whether or not each page was very clearly visible on the first few scans. Then I almost kinda got better.
Should have been named "PC gamers favourite games at the moment"
Top/Bottom lists. We've all seen them in newspapers and magazines, TV, and on websites and blogs. Top 100 Albums of the year, 20 Worst Games, etc. And they always make the wrong choices! It's infuriating, so we have long internet arguments about them. Little do we know, we are being suckered into what is essentially a marketing scheme. There's usually no objective basis for the lists, they take about 5 minutes to think up, and since people love arguing about these sorts of things, they get spread all over the news and the internet, giving free advertising to whoever is responsible for them. It doesn't matter what people think of the list--if a guy sees a Kotaku list on Reddit and thinks "wow, what a bullshit list!" and then posts it on Facepunch, thousands and thousands more users will see the Kotaku list. The more controversial this list is, the more people argue. And the more people argue, the longer the list stays on people's minds. Even if they don't click the thread, it will register subliminally, raising their awareness of the existence of Kotaku. And reminding people that you exist is what advertising is all about! And so, if you see a Top 10 list that really pisses you off, instead of reposting it everywhere to tell people how much it pisses you off, ignore it. That way you will make the world just a little bit better.
railworks 2 isn't first bullshit artice
railworks 2 isn't first bullshit artice
The whole list should have been Railworks and its collective DLC.
If you replay HL2 right now you'll see it's honestly nothing amazing
If you replay HL2 right now you'll see it's honestly nothing amazing
I replay it alot and it's still better than most FPS's today tbh
what a terrible list [editline]29th January 2011[/editline] those "top xxx" are always so subjective i don't even see the point
I replay it alot and it's still better than most FPS's today tbh
How so Nothing about the story, gameplay, or graphics really amazes me
I don't see this as a list of which games are better than each other, but more of a list of 100 good and enjoyable games. Except Oblivion.
Wurm online, really?
Oh and it's PC Gamer's top 100 not "Facepunch's top 100" or "'top 100 of everyone who happens to agree with you" so there's no sense bitching about it Every time some reviewer or magazine company likes something someone else doesn't or vice versa people take it is an insult
I understand it is opinionated, but Oblivion is not a good enough game to be the third greatest PC game of all time.
