I asked the same question but for Co Op earlier, can i play on live split screen with a friend? Or same with the co op i cant.
On the xbox 360 version of modern warfare 2, you can only split screen COOP mode and offline multiplayer. You cannot split screen campaign or xbox live multiplayer. It is a shame but it is so people don't cheat somehow...
