I have some extra money in my PayPal account and want to know if TF2 would be a worthy investment
No overly-biased opinions please. ;)
Its fun, but the community is full of shitheads. Have fun sifting through "hilarious" pictures featuring the TF2 cast, hardcore people whining about the latest patch and essays about how TF2 is the BEST MP GAME EVAH
Fucking worth it.
alot of people are gonna disagree with me. but, i personally never got into it to be honest. i prefered Classic
Damnit where'd the facepalm emote go
Anyway, BUY IT
Is it addicting? Like can you upgrade certain aspects of your character and all that fancy stuff? Or is it like Counter-Strike where every player is 100% identical at the start of each round except for their class?
Just buy it, you can customize your characters with the hats and valve constantly update it with free stuff.

Yeah you find certain items for each character and it changes the way you play like the spy's Cloak and his dead ringers device.
Oh and why not just look up a review?
I would have to look up several reviews to get the same number of opinions as just posting a thread here. Plus, this community seems to be pretty fond of the game, so I figured there would be a lot of people with something to say.

i like tf2, but i think tfc is better. :S

It's very addicting. Well you can customize each character with certain hats, and you can achieve new weapons. Or the weapons will be simply "dropped" while playing ingame.
Also the cool part is that you can never get bored of a really well done map, like I love playing Dustbowl and I haven't gotten bored of it for a year already.
TF2 is pretty awesome. I've been playing it almost since release, and even though I sometimes get bored from it, I always return some time later. And the updates are pretty good. So yeah, you should buy it. But beware, it takes some time to get into it.
Well, it took some time before me and my friends were able to play it properly without instantly dying :)
Oh, and there's actually quite a lot of great communities.
How do you not own the game already? It's an awesome game, go buy it.
Buy The Orange Box instead.
I don't like TF2 at all.
But if you like that kind of games, go for it.
Look me in the face and tell me that this isn't awesome:

Its good, but i dont know, it is a bit too fast paced for me.
Its good, but i dont know, it is a bit too fast paced for me.
As long as you don't play scout, it's not fast paced at all.
you should get it for the multiplayer and stuff. it'll get you hooked on and addicted.
I am going to be dumbed but dont buy it. It's repetetive as hell.

What the fuck are you talking about ?
There are MUCH worse games.
TF2 has like 9 classes and they most of them have upgrade-able gear.

But gameplay is all the same. You only kill people, push the cart, capture points or run with the briefcase.
i like tf2, but i think tfc is better. :S
I gave you a funny because it's hilarious that anyone would think that.
But gameplay is all the same. You only kill people, push the cart, capture points or run with the briefcase.
You can say this for any game and make it sound repetitive. "Yea, HL2 is pretty boring. All you do is shoot people, drive around, and do a few gravity puzzles."
I've been playing this game for years and I never get bored of any of the maps. Except 2fort.

It's only my opinion.
It's only my opinion.
Your opinion is wrong. :colbert:
It's amazing. I bought it during one of the Halloween Sales, and it's the only game I've had recently that I can play every day without it getting boring.
The only reason I would say to not buy it is if you had dial-up and can't play online.
I've only got bored of TF2, it lasted me 2 years. I say go for it.
TF2 is very unfriendly for newbies. So many shit, levels, halos, hats, sidegrades/upgrades, tactics, unique weapons.
If you really want to play this game, buy it. If you want to buy, download, join first server and play - no no. There is no official "manual", and most of the servers are modded shit - 32 players, instaspawn, 2fort.
Well, you can join tf2 uk server, but if you are from US, then sorry.
inb4 shut up nexosz this game is awesome
Yes it is, but not for new players.
I am going to be dumbed but dont buy it. It's repetetive as hell.
No it's not? It's one of the most varied games I've played; definitely the most varied MP game I've played.
