[B]Guys, after a solid 3 years, and finished school, I've decided to make this a full out UDK game, instead of a Half Life 2 mod. I do have a very good coder on the team now, and we are really just looking for some artist who can make all sorts of prefabs alongside me, but we also are looking for a texture artist. We will continue on without them for the mean time, and expect frequent updates.

A while back I posted for some help with the mod. And the major comment I was given was to show some work, unfortunately at the time being the team didn't want to go public with the mod, so I couldn't. But now I come to you today with WORK!!! *cheers and laughter (in a good way)*. So to start off we have the name... which is "Operation: Reborn". Now to get down to some business, then to some screenshots and videos. Lets start off with some of the Game Development Document ( GDD ):
4.1. Game Concept
Operation: Reborn is a Half Life 2 conversion. Using custom maps, custom models, custom weapons and custom sounds. The Mod is based on a series of events that take place after a major world crisis. Starting with the main character being put into a cryogenic sleep along with 999 other humans in hope to save mankind. The game is a puzzle RPG based on adventuring a futuristic world in its ruins, finding information on the long since gone civilization and encountering animals and creatures that have been biologically mutated and enhanced.

4.3. Genre
The genre is an action adventure puzzle RPG. The majority of the game is based on adventuring the world with using action filled battles as something to fill along the way. And the puzzles will be one of the main focuses and will also take part in most key events in the game and in the storyline.
4.4. Target Audience
Our game should be appropriate and accessible to every PC gamer, within most ages. But our targeted audiences for basing the game core mechanics on are the real puzzle RPG lovers. The game should be built upon the core mechanics of games like Zelda; very adventure and puzzle based.
4.5. Game Flow Summary
The character spends most if not all of his travelling by foot. Having the full ability to retrace and back trace his steps. The game flow will usually change throughout the game, it will change from slow puzzle solving times in the game, to fast high paced battle times in the game. But there will always be a good contrast, and transitions should be smooth and shouldn’t be choppy.
4.6. Look and Feel
The game should be incredibly detailed and have luscious and have beautiful environments. Since you will be adventuring most of the game the environments should look very overgrown with plant life teeming everywhere overtop of the occasional ruins of the once futuristic. You should feel almost overwhelmed with having the ability to roam this large world but also not confused in what you are doing. For the most part it should be tropical and environmental filled with nothing but plants, but there should also be remnants of the futuristic world, such as temples and other large structures that have managed to survive. Yet they will still be totally covered in moss and other plant life.
I think that will explain the game, without giving away any serious story or plot. Now as far as some cool picture's and videos go...

I would show you some more maps that have been done, but I don't want to give away too much. I'll let your imaginations take over xD. Oh yeah and essentially this post is asking for some help. We had 2 team members who were working on other things at the time and it was just too hard for them to continue. So we have some open spots.

You can do both, in that version the viewmodel wasn't working. But with the current version you can see the torch in hand, and light things on fire with it ( working on swing animation ). I will get a video up of the updated torch some time soon when I have the cave done up with cubemaps and things of the sort to make it look nicer.

I like your opinion, I like it very very much. It's nice to know that you can get some support around here. Oh and on a side note, I had a really really good quesadilla today.
And if you think the torch having the ability to throw and light things of fire and such is cool, you should see the spears when they are up and running.

lol too true, but that being said. We could use some help at the current moment. The mod is moving along nicely but we really need some more members. We had some recent members quit and we could really use some replacements.

Well hell man, I could try to help. I have no real experiance with modling, Mapping, or skinning, But If you need a tester Im here for it. I have some experiance with skinning but most of that was just from the days when i re-Textured SSBB characters.

Hey thats ok, if you really want to help though. Spread the word, we need some more developers, and getting the word around really helps. I mean its just 3 people on the team so far. But yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing what this mod is going to turn out to be. I absolutely love spelunking with the torch!!!

Well it's actually more of the fact that there are A. people who don't even mod and whine that a person is asking for help and there is B. People who mod and are interested in helping. People who can't mod should not be allowed to whine about others attempting to.

Finished... o.o. Hope you don't have too many expectations for anytime soon. We are really just regathering the team. Yes there is quite a bit of work down. But to get back into real development we need to get some more people on board. But the hardest thing to realize is that mod members can come and go as they please, there is nothing forcing them to work on it, and when they don't want to, they don't. So right now were slowly but surely grinding along.
What kind of a modeler are you looking for? I may be able to help you with that.

We are looking for a zbrush modeler, and a prop modeler. We currently have a hand model finished ([B]By. NightWolf[/B]) but it still needs to be rigged if you could possibly do that. Zbrush modeler to add detail to existing objects and baking them. Texturing is a plus.-

Well. That's me hooked.
I can imagine coming across this big gap in the caves and throwing a torch down to see how deep it is, but it goes on forever, and you have to find another way across.
sometimes, i see a mod for Half Life 2, and think 'wow, this was free?!'
