So, 5 years ago to this day, Valve released Half-Life 2. How many of you can honestly say you played it on day one? I sure wish I had a PC that could play it back in 2004.
Who wants to take a guess at how many sales (retail and Steam) Half-Life 2 has garnered to this day?

It sold close to 9 million at retail. I'd imagine Steam sales have, or are close to doubling the retail sales.
I'm gonna guess ~17 million total sales.

My first VALVe game was HL1. That makes me feel so old. :[
I got into HL1 early on, but didn't play hl2 until the orange box.

They still have one more year before it's officially late. Their goal was not to spend 6 more years on a sequel to Half-Life 2, so as long as we have Episode 3 by this time next year, everything will be good :buddy:

I was still on dial-up when it came out and I'd heard nothing about Steam. Finally started playing it 1 AM the following morning and got to the barn in Water Hazard before having to go to school. I still remember the first time I shot the combine at the top of the stairs in Root Kanal....
Man. It seems like so long ago.

If you exclude a few shitty gamemaker games I downloaded.
I got this game on Christmas of '04, which is also my join date on Steam. :dance:
It was the best thing I've ever gotten for Christmas, and I remember sitting on my computer chair, idly waiting for the thing to download over dial up. It took me 3 days to actually download it and then play it, but those 3 days just built up the anticipation and awesomeness when I actually played the thing. :allears:
